Unfortunately no, which kinda sucks. In this day and age and with YouTube (yea it's owned by Google, not Microsoft so there goes that integration idea) and what not, you'd think that Bungie would've easily allowed us to convert our vids to an .avi or .mpg and copy it over via the Media Center but no, it's just a data file they use with the game engine to recreate the whole thing.

In short you'd need a video capture card to hook up your xbox and pc to record the playback off your xbox. Here's a decent starting guide that was written for Halo 2 but pretty much applies to anything you capture: http://nikon.bungie.org/misc/lordgideon_video/

its a shame how they havent integrated such a feature
i made lame attempt to make a halo 3 beta montage i bought a capture card (forgot which one dazzle 150 or something) but it didnt really work with vista

so i wound up bringing my 360 hard drive to a friends house and recording each saved video to his sony vaio then putting those files onto thumb drives then bringing them back home and editing them

i wish there was a good capture card for vista

Well, I figured I'd revisit this question. I saw the following sticky on the Bungie forum: Sticky:How to upload Videos of H3 onto your computor, no camera or cap.card (TUT)

I haven't tried this out myself but thought I'd share. It looks like the service will capture your video and it may take a few hours... from what I've browsed it looks like the end result is just a Flash file. Then to get it onto your pc you'd capture it with the 2nd program they mention.

While $10 isn't much I think it's unfortunate that they're doing this so soon and didn't ship these out with H3. If I'm not mistaken they didn't start working on these recently but probably have been before the game shipped. It would suck if they barred us from matchmaking (MM) if we don't have the maps (like what they did with H2). $10 for only 3 maps... then probably $10 for the next 3 and so on. Probably end up paying the cost of the game by the time all the new maps are bought. Or just wait till they're free and avoid MM... dunno if I'll be able to do that though

if bungie makes it so that we MUST have these maps to go into matchmaking then ill admit, thats a pretty smart move lol. i doubt that the majority of h3 players will refuse to buy it, but im sure theyre going to be pissed. either way, great find ninja, i had no idea when the maps were coming out

Good news: Bungie announced that, unlike H2, H3's MM will be able to pair you up based on the maps you own. So we won't be forced to buy these just to play MM.

Post your gamertag in the gamertag thread and add others from there... might help to identify yourself as an e90post member when you add ppl otherwise they might not know who you are tho this can get tiresome real quick to do it for each person you add.

I played some last night... I got Narrows 3-4 games in a row! Not that it's a bad map but after awhile back to back it gets annoying.

Anyway, new maps come out today (should be up now I think) for those that plan to buy them... $10. I don't think I will though, probably wait till they're free since I've been busy and it'll motivate me to play the other games I just bought: CoD4, Orange Box, and Assassin's Creed
