Leave us to not forget programs on cassettes, and the enormous amount of time they took to load.

My first computer was a 286 running at 10MHz with a "Turbo" button for 20MHz. It had a HDD, which was not common at the time, a massive 20MB disk (nope, not a typo, 20 Megabytes)

My high school had terminals with those tape feeds. Mainframe was in the other high school across town. No GUI or even a monitor. Just a fancy typewriter.

I went through that twice on the weekend. Flew in to YTZ for a show on Saturday evening and home again yesterday.

"Final chord and completion
Following the final orchestral crescendo, the song ends with one of the most famous final chords in music history. Overdubbed in place of the vocal experiment from 10 February [1967], this chord was added during a session at EMI's Studio Two on 22 February [1967]. Lennon, McCartney, Starr and Evans shared three different pianos, with Martin on a harmonium, and all played an E-major chord simultaneously. The chord was made to ring out for over forty seconds by increasing the recording sound level as the vibration faded out. Towards the end of the chord the recording level was so high that listeners can hear the sounds of the studio, including rustling papers and a squeaking chair. In author Jonathan Gould's commentary on "A Day in the Life", he describes the final chord as "a forty-second meditation on finality that leaves each member of the audience listening with a new kind of attention and awareness to the sound of nothing at all."
One of the first outsiders to hear the completed recording was the Byrds' David Crosby when he visited the Beatles during their 24 February [1967] overdubbing session for "Lovely Rita". He recalled his reaction to the song: "Man, I was a dish-rag. I was floored. It took me several minutes to be able to talk after that." Due to the multiple takes required to perfect the orchestral cacophony and the final chord, the total time spent recording "A Day in the Life" was 34 hours. By contrast, the Beatles' debut album, "Please Please Me", had been recorded in its entirety in only 15 hours, 45 minutes."

The Beatles - "A Day In The Life" (1967):

In 1969 while attending college, I worked night shift in a music store. I had all of the stereo tuners set to my favorite FM station. Once night right when I was closing, A Day in the Life came on. I quickly turned off the outside lights, locked the front door, and turned the sign from Open to Closed. I then went around to each stereo and turned up the volume. There I was alone with maybe 10 stereos at high volume with A Day in the Life playing. And then, that famous E major chord came. One of many favorite music moments for me.

You think it’s a good idea to wash, clay bar, polish and wax your car one day . Then the next day you can’t get out of bed ,your body doesn’t want to work and you can’t move without a bottle of Tylennol arthritis pain relief 😂 , but once you can move again the outcome makes you smile 😀and that even hurts !

And while cranking up the volume on the stereos, you probably lip-synced Lennon's "I'd love to turn you on" line.

Your X5 looks amazing! Wow.

I see you use a knee pad. Being close the center of the lawn, my knees need some help when I'm on the ground gardening, cleaning wheels, tire-blacking tires, etc. I bought these bad boys and I couldn't be happier. The cool part is you don't have to pick them up and move them as you move around your work area.
