One day, on a Saturday, we had a load of clothes drying and I was in the garage, working on one of my radio control airplanes. Did the same routine the next Saturday. Each night thereafter I started having some really weird dreams. They were in black and white and always included ferns and jungle-like foliage. Basically, my own personal movies behind my eyes. We had a gas dryer. I'm sure you can connect the dots.

After much soul searching, finally settled on my first 5.1 by mixing and matching four of these Bowers & Wilkins M1s (compact and white to please the wife but good nuff quality for the smallish basement), a B&W 8" sub, and a Definitive Technology 1000 series center channel.
Icing on the cake is upgrading my 65" Sony LED for the 77" A80j OLED...while bigger is almost always better, I decided against cramming in the massive 85" Sony LED x85J and going with the slightly smaller but higher quality (and pricier) OLED. The Sony a80j and LG C1 seem to be neck and neck for top TV in this category but apparently the Sony comes better calibrated out of the box, and my 65" had zero issues ever. So much soul searching...this is my first 5.1 setup so was aiming entry-level-ish (although I have gone deeper on my F10 sound system)...it is crazy that no matter how many home audio "experts" at stores you ask no one ever has a remotely decisive opinion. I ended up going with Best Buy bc it turns out if you buy the $200 annual tech support it includes install for every item...including TV mount on my brick wall, all speaker mounts and wiring, not bad.

Even though I'm a middle aged, married Dad, I'm still a clothes and fashionable dude.
All have matching vests.

I drive my golf cart almost every day and decided a new one was worth the cost. And I got a screaming deal. Or I'm justifying spending the money. You choose. LOL.
They are making me one like this. Might take a month to get it. |

I really like what Porsche has done with the rear ends of all their lineup. Particularly the Cayenne and 911. What's the interior color?

Bought an Ender 3 V2 3D printer yesterday. Super fun to mess with and my printing skills are improving quickly. Made cabinet hangers for my wife's Kitchen-Aid mixer attachments, a boat, dog and now some cookie cutters she wanted. Also found that I can print new cup holder pieces for the E85/E86 Z4.

Actually it started with my friend telling me what he was offered for his model 3. So for fun I went online and got some quotes on mine. Was offered more than I paid for it in early 2020... so got my head turning. Let me say I LOVE my model 3, I was an EV hater and was converted, however now with the house in NC the 3 basically sits in the garage in FL since we have no power in garage in NC and closest charger is like 45min away. I like the idea of having a vehicle I can use in both locations summer and winter so I have been thinking about an SUV for a while since my F350 is waaaaaay to big to drive around all the time and it's sole purpose is towing our rv (which I'm trying to sell) and home depot runs. Anyways long story short I started looking at SUVs. Wanted something fairly small as it's usually just us two but it's nice to be able to take family around when they visit and have the cargo space. Started looking at Macans because I like the look and it was small and sporty and AWD and I've never owned a Porsche so I like trying new things. Went to look at some Macans and saw this newer 2019 updated interior Cayenne and fell in love with it after test drive. I found the base Macan just didn't have enough power. It was ok, but for a VW or something. The S was good and the GTS was awesome I really liked that one, but very few available and all pre 2019 update models, very little passenger space... plus honestly I don't need it THAT sporty, already have the Mustang to get my jollies. The base Cayenne was IMO the perfect balance. Enough power so it didn't feel underpowered like the base Macan, plenty of rear seat space and the new interior just felt much more refined, plus it was around the same price as the 2017 Macan GTSs I was looking at. My biggest concern going back to Germany is reliability. I've read they are good cars, but who knows. The CPO is suppose to be very good and it's 2 years unlimited miles so I guess we'll find out in 2 years. Last edited by dreamingat30fps; 01-16-2022 at 04:08 PM.. |

After a few months of looking and 5 attempts to make deals on these cars, I finally got my hands on one. Well not yet, it’s being shipped. It should be here by the end of the month.

So we bought this place in October 2020. It came with a snowblower that was a piece of shit and packed it in half way down my 150' driveway with a foot of snow on it. The gear box for the auger is shot. It will cost more than the thing is worth so I bit the bullet so to speak and bought a proper snowblower. The Ariens 24 Deluxe. Should last long enough that my kids will inherit it.

These are nice, once I started using fuel stabilizer and draining the carb in spring, starts after two pulls. Heated hand grips are a nice thing to add. |
