The bell tower with the nests is Equisheim. You both got that one correct.

The "lousy photo" with the the rolled up flag is another location.

No problem. The building is in the town square in Colmar. We had an excellent lunch on the square from the restaurant on the bottom floor of this building. I was sitting there looking at it while I was eating just thinking about he history of these old French towns and the fascinating architecture.

I've been to Europe many times on business and pleasure over that past 40 years. Maybe its because I've been not traveling since 2019 because of COVID that this trip feels so special to me. Great food tastes even greater. Charming buildings look even more charming. I feel like a kid in a candy store!

I remember seeing something similar in Basel Switzerland when I visited the zoo which was only a few minutes drive on the A-5 from my place. The river would be the Rhine.

Be glad that I had chosen this pic, first I had considered to post the other side with the more ugly 2 Roche towers, but I know some real good reseach talents here so this seems too easy for me. Hadnt expect LJ to solve this anyway as quick as she had done, hard to beat.

It's a beautiful building. HH Petrus en Pauluskerk?

I was a little thrown by the title of largest wooden structure, though. Quick search shows this as the world's largest wooden structure.
