to me, that is the connotation of exotic, not super car.
people want an exotic because that scenario you want what you can't have, so to speak. the definition of exotic means "originating in a far away/foreign land." so by definition exotic can be a fiat.... but automotive connotation for exotic is something just out of reach for someone who is asked "if you could pick..." meaning "you can't have so if you could." no one asks "if you could" to someone who can.

Corvettes never cost what Ferraris cost but offer equal or better performance for 1/3 or half the price.

There’s people on the corvette forum with Ferraris, mclarens, Porsche turbo s and yet they’re still buying corvettes.

But it is a supercar.

My manager makes 526k a year as i saw his paystub by accident in his car. You want to know what car he drives? A jeep fucking grand fucking cherokee. His wife drives plain jane X4. Not even an X4M. She's a nurse. He makes 526k. So i guess he can't afford an X4M then since he got his wife an X4.

No one chooses between a Corvette and an exotic the likes of a Ferrari/Lamborghini/McLaren. However, some people who already own one or several exotics could still consider getting a C8 Z06 as their daily commuter. I know I would rather have a Z06 than a Carrera S (just as an example).

Sad, but true. I had a c7Z06 when i was 28, and it was a great car. Fast, and reliable. It's sad that many people wont give the Corvette a chance simply because it's a "chevy" .. get off the high horse.

Too many cars out there to drive, and own, not enough time. The Z's have always been fast, and the C8Z will been no exception. It's going to slap alot of supercars around and have reliability and low maintenance to boot. But it still isn't a supercar. It's just as fast (or) faster than some...

The C8Z finally is, and when we get the performance data, will cement it as one.

But i guess it's also cool to just spend more money, on a 10 year old exotic, that's slower, with old tech, no warranty, with a shit ton of mileage just to spite GM's new creation of their supercar, just to say, that's not a supercar, i rather have a 10 year old exotic instead.

I've only driven a C8 once and would not want that as my daily. Again, I drove one for 20 minutes and it didn't not seem that good for everyday use.

The Vette has had performance numbers better than some cars that cost a lot more for a long time. Now the Z actually costs what some of these exotics can be had for. No longer a "bargain". No longer America's affordable sports car.

Pfff. Forget 100k. Make it 125k and there is still no answer besides the upcoming C8Z. But AGAIN we have to see the performance data otherwise it's just a hyped up version of the stingray with an incredible engine.

But right now, from what we know SO FAR, the C8Z IS the car to get. Well if you can.

670hp, DCT, mid engine, widebody, exotic looks, V8 NA engine that sounds like exotic, backed by a full warranty.

Call it 125k and there is still nothing on the market.

You have yoyo's paying 140k for an M4 CSL.

Ding dong's paying 90-100k for hellcats.

But at 106k, GM's first supercar and people say it's a failure

Can't wait to make everyone drool when i get mine.
