All RAWS are unaltered anyway? I really don't see the issue with altered jpgs. As long as you keep the RAW which I guess most photographers do, then there is no problem. Tastes and "whats in fashion" change. I personally like the vibrant saturated hdr effect. The pheasant shot is great.

I keep all of my Raws, plus any published jpg and, in cases where I think that I may do considerable reworking a tiff that's been cropped, levels adjusted, but otherwise plain.

I got this kite hovering on a very overcast day. I like the almost black and white effect of it.

^^^Very cool. Looks almost illustrated. Like you painted or drew it instead of a photo. Nice.

I'm glad everyone liked my white-tailed kite shot, probably my favorite bird to shoot, they look so epic when they hover!
Here is something completely different, a white-faced ibis. Gotta love the color on the feathers. 20120225-AQ4E0446 by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

Sick shot Ed! Love the colors on it.
Have you done any panning shots like that? I think it would've looked cool with the background not only blurred, but showing the action.

^^^^^^That's what I need to practice this summer before the USGP in Austin in November. That's a great pan where the car is sharp and the wheels and background show motion. Nicely done.

Agreed. Hope you don't get too buried, Denn. My best friend is in MA right in the heaviest snow band. No fun at all.
