Everyone getting way ahead of themselves with this Mercedes talk. The car has performed well over the past month but there are many variables to consider and see if they have solved. First being the performance in hot weather - the W15 suffers here. The second is high speed/low speed corners. W15 can perform well with slow speed corners but can’t keep up with the high speed corners.

Well there dies a couple rumors!
Haas extends Ferrari PU deal through 2028
Haas has announced an extension of its technical partnership with Ferrari, including the use of power units, through to at least the end of the 2028 season.
Ferrari has supplied Haas with multiple components – including power unit, gearbox and suspension
RACER understands that recent discussions regarding a potential collaboration between Haas and Toyota are unaffected by the Ferrari extension, with talks ongoing with the Japanese automotive company over future common ground.
https://racer.com/2024/07/16/haas-ex...-through-2028/

Pretty gutsy considering the 2026 rule change.

A Haas to Toyota sale in the future would not shock me.

I was going to say the calm before the storm but that is now reversed, that is if there's a heatwave in for the race, certainly has been over here today with a high of 30C on my trip to the BMW yearly service today. What a scorcher !

Some ‘ahem’ has mentioned that Liam Lawson didn’t get close to the required benchmark time in the recent test. Seems that isn’t the case now from multiple sources, I suspect this might be the prelude to a seat in the RB or maybe the Red Bull if Max insecurities top Sainz joining.

 | Liam Lawson was within a few tenths of Max Verstappen's time at his filming day at Silverstone.

His pace was in the window Red Bull needed it to be.

That was what I've read from different sources as well. RBR were satisfied with Lawson's pace, and that is all they have stated officially. Ultimately we will find out what happens in a couple of weeks but it would not surprise me at all if nothing changed across the Red Bull family drivers lineup after the summer break.

We'll know then if speed or money talks.

About the Ardennes and the Belgian GP (Spa)

Well , Finally the FIA goes for a full investigation regarding the flexible front wings..
During the FP's in the Belgian GP , the teams (certain teams)! will be obliged to run with small cams on the front wings to check how much the wing bends.
I heard : The flexible front wing gives them a 15-20 kph higher topspeed .
The wings must be marked with special dots at the relevant positions and levels .

Wolff and Brown won't like to hear that (!)
But it sounds great to me

FIA were dragging their heels about this at first but good they have at last woken up after re-reading their own rules

Dramatic side pod/PU cover upgrade on the RB20 @9.30 which will hopefully contain the Laren/Merc threat here but where bigger heat exits are needed also.

Here it is and b/c of a shortage of mini cams only the few teams ''suspected'' of having flex wings will have them

Motorsport.com has learned that the main motivation for the new flexi-wing checks is not to trigger a potential clampdown on what teams are doing right now.
Instead, it is more about helping the FIA get a clearer picture of what teams are doing with the front wing – with a view to then seeing if changes need to be made.
The FIA’s long-standing stance that it is happy that there is nothing wrong with what is currently being run, made clear to teams in recent Technical Advisory Committees, remains in force despite what is being planned for Belgium.

FP1 done with Carlo again handling the SF 24 foibles brilliantly setting quickest time and Charlie maxxing his car sliding his car off a couple times. MAX comfortably in between the Ferraris in that hour long session.
No F1 tv for me and wondering if Merc have that front suspension bulge present on their car here.

Charlie's crashed oh no he took too much kerb and polished off the left rear suspension/wheel, could mean the old floor put back on in the rebuild as there's no spare new floor.
