Yep- my iX is that color, and that's what it looks like. I like how it looks, but it's kind of odd to me that they consider it a metallic paint. I mean, I'm sure it is, but it looks like a Uni in person, to me.

I agree, it reminds me a lot of Nardo Gray from Audi, but with a tiny bit more blue in it. It doesn’t seem like a metallic paint. I thought about ordering it until I went up to the dealer and looked at an Xi in that color. I have a Nardo Gray RS6 currently and wanted something different, so I went with Dark Graphite Metallic with Silverstone interior.

If I end up with one, odds are high I'd go TV as well. Great choice.

Did BMW NA get you any better pics of the seats?

Not yet.

I'm waiting for my allocation to drop then I'll have BMW NA get the order tweaked for Techno Violet and the Dark Violet interior. While I'm working with them to get my order sorted out, I'll ask again to see if any better photos have been made available. The availability wont be until 3/25 so there will be some time to visually re-confirm the interior choice...

I'm trying not to wear out my welcome at BMWNA... ;-)

If allocations are open for the G99 why so little?

I'm not convinced those are "user" allocations. May just be some of the HEA cars...

BMWNA is supposed to contact me right away when the G99 allocations drop so we can finish tweaking my individual order...

There are no HEA touring vehicles. These are customer orders and one of them is an individual paint. And none of the current allocations are for any of the very large stores. Rahal and Hendrick have 1 each. Curiously BMW of Monterey (not large) has 2.

BMWNA says they have me on a list specifically for a G99 individual allocation. I guess I need to check with them...

I wonder if these are press cars? The vehicles may be required to go through a dealer to be “punched” and get into the press fleet, especially if a third party company owns and manages those vehicles.

For example I think Porsche North America has to purchase their press cars from Porsche Germany. I heard an interview with the person who specs and orders them talking about the process.

BMW NA confirms those allocations you see are indeed "Press/Marketing and HEA (non-modifiable) orders"...

I figured that might be the case.

Dear BMW, we have waited over 30 years for an M5 Touring here in the US, please don’t put us last on your list of global allocations.

Hopefully “normal” US allocations will start coming out soon.

I think the user allocations are imminent. ...but ya gotta learn to savor the wait! (...somewhat masochistically I guess...)

All that being said, I'm not sure when the last time it was that I ordered a car and DIDN'T have to ultimately wait about a year (from announcement to delivery). With the individual interior (Dark Violet/Black) having an SOP of 3/25, I'm not really expecting delivery (PDC) until May or so of next year.

But I'm always working 1 car ahead. So by the time the G99 actually gets delivered, It'll be time to start working on the upcoming 2026/27 iM3: https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/03/21/e...mw-m3-details/

Funny, because when I spoke to Frank Van Meel at Laguna Seca during Car Week, he said no HEA models. Production only. Confirmed by others at BMW NA with the unveiling team.

If these were press/marketing and HEA. Why does BMW of Monterey have 2 of them?

One is in production, one with individual paint request, others are in 111/112.

Oh, I bought an RS6 for MSRP in 2021. I am WELL aware of the waiting game.

What funny is I did put a $100 deposit on the new Scout even though my G99 isn’t even here yet. I’ll probably give the Scout to my kid, but I thought it was funny that I have already ordered a car when the previous car I ordered isn’t even here.

You can debate this all you want, but I'm confident in my source. (Actually, from someone in the dept who configures the HEA/dealer cars). ...and its not unusual for BMW to produce press cars with individual paint just for the exposure.

Just got an email with my G99 production number!

The order shows Black on Black so BMWNA still needs to adjust it for Techno Violet and Dark Violet/Black interior...

Question Possible $2.6K Base Price change yesterday?

Did BMWNA quietly raise the base price of the M5T yesterday by $2600? When I went into the configurator to look at a possible tweak to my order (locked in on 10/29), the configurator shows the original $121.5K base ($122,675 with DC), but then changes to $124.1K base when I launch in to tweak the build.

Thinking it was a software glitch, I did the same build on 3 different devices - all with same result.

My 10/29 order Vehicle Inquiry Report shows Priority 1 - 'customer sold' with order status of '047 - Spec released - no quota'

255G M5T
416 Carbon Black Metallic
LKIA Silverstone
ZDY Driving Assistance Pro Pkg
ZPX Executive Pkg
1GB 20/21s 951 Wheels
1MB M Drive Professional
2NK M Carbon Ceramic Brakes
43P Carbon Fiber Trim
7ME M Drivers Package

Dealer is selling at MSRP - no packs, no adds. I have the first M5T slot that gets allocated to them. Deposit since early 8/14.

Ordered base Price is $137,000 + $1175 = $138,175

New Configurator shows $140,775 - which is super strange...
