I even saw an X3 with M badge at the dealer... Why didn't they remove it? Trying to fool the poor customers probably

That is like feeding the wild animals! It's never a good idea.

I saw this one today.

My brother in law said "it's an Msport packaged 335i, so what" I told him that BMW doesn't put the ///M on the car just for getting an Msport package. He actually sent me an excerpt from another forum where someone was explaining that the m-sport package cars receive different seat, wheels, steering wheel, bumpers, rear diffuser and ///M badges. I told him that I didn't think that was correct as I've looked at a couple of M-sport packaged cars (X5, 535i) and none of them had the ///M badge anywhere on them except the wheels and steering wheel. So, I ask you all; which is correct? Oh, I might add; it was an older lady driving it. I rather doubt she put the ///M on the car. It only bugs me if a dealer did it just to fetch a slightly higher price tag. That's just wrong.

That's what I told him. Thank you for the clarification. I told him that the size is incorrect for the e9x car anyway which is another clue to me.

Are you sure it wasn't a 1M. The badging you describe would be accurate for that car.

Yes adding //M stickered parts like wheels, steering wheel, door sills, M sport suspension and not M suspension, m sport body kit is sorta ///M. I have owned a few M-sport version of BMW's and compared to real ///M cars, they are not. Badge it up, make YOURSELF feel good and the people you fool, they are In the same superficial boat. Having an ///M car doesn't make be better than the badged sudo ///M car, i am just not a person trying to impress other people but a person who loves the way an ///M car drives

I just saw a 320 with this fake M badge and M license plate bracket. Looked stupid to me.

Like I said in an earlier post. Good for them if they can so easily make themselves happy by simply installing a badge. I agree though. My personal opinion is; they look stupid.

Those badges arent fake badges, they are the same badges BMW uses on other non M cars.
The only difference those owners didnt pay the premium price they would've if BMW put them on for them.

The badges we've shown are fake. If BMW installs the ///M badge; the car then is a genuine ///M car. Is BMW destroying what the ///M means by installing it on cars like the 7 series you poste? Sure they are. They don't really care at this point in time. They've figured out that people really only care about the badging and the fact they can make more money by installing simple badges. Now, back to the point. When BMW installs the ///M the car is legit even if it is disgusting to some of us. However, when an owner installs an ///M badge; it is fake as they are not the manufacturer. Although, I don't really have a problem with people doing so. It still warrants a head shake and laugh.

FWIW, I can confirm that "M-Sport" packages doesn't necessarily = M badge next to model on the trunklid, as my missus drives an M-Sport 535. It DOES, however, have it on the steering wheel and the bottom of the door jamb. Sometimes when I get in her car I'm thinking "now whose car are we taking, today?", but then I press the start button and I remember! LOL

That's funny. Also, be glad you have the s65 as that wouldn't be as discernible with the F80/F82 M3/M4.

What makes this car not an authentic 330ci?
