Something else you want to consider, is that low ticket recurring charge companies get absolutely destroyeddd in margins. For example, netflix only nets around 8-10% of their gross (crazy right). Sharktank was the absolute worst show for how business actually works. Their valuations make very little sense. But I guess that makes sense, because it would be an incredibly boring show if you actually broke down how a valuation for a company is determined. I enjoy the show, but cringe on the business side.

When it comes to straight up cash, you're right, the majority of the time they destroy the ownership charts. But with all of the added value the lay down, I'd say anything under 25-30% is fair regardless of the track records. Big players add so much value.

Not trying to morally justify cheating, or excusing it, but given the consequences, I think it's pretty damn obvious why people go to the lengths they do to hide their affairs, instead of being upfront.

I think it's cheaper and less emotionally painful to end the marriage first, and then bonk someone else, instead of getting caught bonking someone else and then ending the marriage, but it seems a lot of people roll the dice in the hopes of having their cake and eating it too.

Sadly, that is not an entirely crazy gamble, since a lot of people DO get away with it; it's certainly NOT the case that 100% of all affairs are discovered, and of the ones that are discovered, not 100% result in a costly divorce....

Even if the names from this hack are all released, then it will probably result in a temporary dip in infidelity, and then, human nature being what it is, they will start to climb again.

If you ask me, however, I'd say that dominant males just feel like they deserve more booty than their less dominant competitors. Feeling that way, they go get some, or at least attempt to.

Truly, if there's blame, it lies with the females for several reasons:

• Females partner with dominant males (i.e., males having more sex appeal thanm do most/many other males available to a given female) and then expect those males to not avail themselves of the very thing -- greater sex appeal as a result of their dominant position -- that attracted the female to them. (I think the reverse is true too if a man pairs with a female who's his superior as goes factors that boost the woman's sex appeal, that is factors that make her dominant over other women.)
• Women have a 100% monopoly on the commodity that most males seek to obtain by cheating. Clearly women who cheat with married men see "gettin' some" with the guy as more important than subordinating their carnal urges in respect of another woman's claim. (And again, the reverse is so when it's the woman who cheats on the male.) In this aspect of the matter, regardless of one's spiritual leanings, Jesus' teaching -- do unto others as you'd have them do unto you -- could be helpful if folks would just follow it.

You're right there. The ones that don't end in divorce are the ones where the people involved are able to tell the difference between emotional and life value bonds versus largely physical bonds. At least that's what I think.

Of course, it also depends on what the married parties agreed to and promised each other. I know what I hear in public at a wedding ceremony, but what two people say to each other in private, I'm not privy to. I know better than to be shocked about the nature and extent of what they might privately agree to.

I suppose in light of those studies, it's entirely possible that if the woman doesn't perform fellatio (or isn't any good at it), or if the man doesn't perform cunnilingus (or isn't any good at it), having an affair may be either partner's rational solution for keeping the marriage together while also obtaining sufficient momentary physical satisfaction.


I'm sure we've all heard the saying, "what you won't do, someone else will." It's not implausible that if that thing one isn't getting/can't get at home is something one wants occasionally, but not all the time, maybe an affair is the best solution for keeping the marriage together. It's hard to say, of course, because few affairs start and stop at the physical. Truly, I think it's what happens beyond the physical that causes the problems.
