F1 2019: Japanese GP - Suzuka (Oct 13)

It's official: ALL track action at Suzuka on Saturday has been CANCELLED!! Qualifying will take place on Sunday morning.

Qualifying will take place at 10am local time (9PM EST if I did my math right). Start time of the race has NOT been changed. There will be no FP3.

Watching FP 1, this was just announced: No Saturday track activity. Qualifying Sunday morning.

It was also announced that FP2 times would be used to set the grid if the weather doesn't clear up enough for qualifying. That means Merc 1-2 as it stands. However, GPS data says Ferrari haven't turned up yet and their last runs in FP2 were in anything but clean air. I'm interested to see how Sunday plays out for everyone. Hopefully Renault get a chance to qualify since they dropped the ball.

I'm not a fan of the latest films as much, more into westerns and the Bond 007 ones, ( like on Max's rear wing) and older ones but keep an eye out for motor racing films and listening to a certain music station they mentioned it.

It looks like F1 took a proactive approach to getting fans engaged on Saturday despite no real track action and will be streaming the 2005 Japanese GP on their official YouTube channel. I have to admit that I'm impressed by this move. They seem to be trying to relieve some of the boredom caused by the session cancellations (especially for those at or near that track that are probably stuck in a hotel).

The race will be streamed at 0800 UTC. If I'm up that early, I'll definitely tune in (if for nothing else than to prop up the number of views in hopes that cool moves/decisions like this will be more likely to happen in future situations like this).

I like what Grosjean and Lewis will be doing out all of them, building a model of a Tyrrell 6 wheeler F1 car and of course Lewis going to a cove where dolphins are being slaughtered trying to convince the indigenous people the error of their
ways.
