Yeah but there’s more to life than going in a straight line. The plaid had a good time around the nurburgring but it wasn’t all that different to the F90 M5C or CS.

And you know a tune e85 will bring the new G90 to 1,000 (true) hp too.

You’ll have to live with it if you want to stay German. New S class hybrid is over 5,700 lbs and we know the C class with its 4 cylinder and hybrid system is over 4,700. The E class hybrid will be right where the M5 is.

Apologies if this is already addressed as I haven't read the entire thread yet...

But why in holy hell is BMW still charging $1700 for DAPP when it should be a standard feature on this car. It is standard on so many non-BMW cars far below this price point and it's not like they are going build even one of these without it (I guess unless some idiot orders it that way...).

I'm never going to be (able to be) buying one of these so I know I'm shouting into the wind but for f's sake BMW.

I had a plaid and 3 m5s. The software in the plaid is incredible, but the driving experience in the m5 is a few steps above.

I wish there is a render of the taupe grey/deep lagoon interior. These colors sound amazing. Also, coming from an iX M60, the interior of the M5, especially the backseats (maybe because without full leather), looks a bit cheap. I hate how I have to wait till March for those colors. I even secured the first allocation from my dealer

Not all self driving tech is the same, additionally not all buyers spec this so why include it. Look across bmws lineup it's an option on everything.

The same reason people pay Telsa 10k for a self-driving tech they don't have.

Soft close doors aren’t removed from M5 due to weight reasons, that’s absurd. It’s gone from all 5 series cars for cost cutting. The amount of gas in the tank has a greater effect than the 4 little soft-close motors.

My wife’s 550i and my M5 both have them, and it’s hard to go back to the violence of slamming doors, especially when you are buying a 6-figure car.

Order guide seemed to show sky lounge panaramic roof as standard. Is there a way to delete the big glass roof, and just get a small moonroof or solid roof?

Correct, now panaromic glass is standard. NO moonroof.
Carbon roof , carbon mirror caps and carbon spoiler are a part of Carbon package.

Yup, BMW is on a cost-cutting suicide mission since around 2022.

That " Base Price Munich pickup" line item takes me back to when I ordered my 2013 F10 for european delivery. What an amazing experience that was, I'd love to do it again.

BMW if you're listening, please bring back European Delivery. And while you're at it, perhaps you could make it so ED orders don't count towards dealer allocations, like you did with the launch of the F10

I’m confused by everyone saying the car is cheap, or cheaper than a loaded F90. That may be true, but isn’t the new M5 P2W closer to an F10 M5? Seems to me like the price is too high for the performance you’re getting

This is fake news. I have successfully removed 5AP from my i7 and iX vehicle order, waited for an “OTA” update and ever since the OTA update was processed in the vehicle without this decoding and it works like in Europe. I have posted on this topic several times and others continue to experience the same as of late using my method.

I would have no reason to believe you couldn’t do this on the G90. G60 folks already use my method successfully.

Hah yeah I don’t know where these people are coming from either. The base price for years for the M5 was $103k with the M5 comp being 110k. The vast majority of the ones I ever saw for sale were spec’s to 116-120k. Basically 120k if they got all the standard packages (exec, full leather) with B&W and 116k or so w/o B&W. Some folks added crazy options up into 160K+ range but that’s way out of norm. Higher end builds even with almost every online choosable option with CCB was like 127k .. then MPE got added by a number to bring it around 134k.

Granted — by the end of the F90 they raised the base price a few times 107 or 109k? I don’t recall. This thing starts roughly a bit higher than where most people previously spec’d their M5s to and about where it ended up. Curious to see how well it sells.

I think people have already made the point — many of the other cars in this class — whether you are in love with the G90 or not.. are not impressive at all or cost a lot more.

Same, was thinking I’d wait for the wagon after my F90 was just stolen and totaled. I’m likely opting for an RS6 Avant instead.

Still feel terrible about what happened to you. Once again, I’m glad that you are your family are safe.

I cross shopped both of my F90s against the RS6 and I will probably be doing it a third time against the G90. It’s essentially the only traditionally/historically placed competitor to the M5 with a V8 under the hood after we lost the V8 in the new E63S.
