I would really like to see the Camaro SS or zturd beat an M3 around the track... It cant slalom for shit at 68.6 mph and and pulled .88 on the skidpad. At those numbers it couldn't beat a stock 135i on the track, let alone a modded 1, or an M3...

You're just being an ass now. There's a lot more to track times than skidpad and slalom numbers. The SS is obivously a capable car, and if they build the Z28 you can bet your ass it will corner. The current car is already faster around The Ring than the 135i and the previous generation M3, what do you think its times are going to look like with more power, wider tires, and more aggressive suspension tuning?

And why would you be comparing it to a modded 1?

I think you meant "you're".

If you're going to correct other people's grammer and make statements about how smart someone is, you should probably proof read first.

That's just N54 syndrome. Any time anyone compares any fast car to a 335 or 135, the word "modded" always gets thrown in there for the N54.

On another note, the CTS-V ran a 7:59. Right? Or am I wrong? You're free to answer that question. How about this one: how much does the Z28 weigh compared to the CTS-V? About 300 lbs less? Bingo. Same powerplant. I don't know how good you are at logical reasoning or math, but the CTS-V already beats the M3 by what? 6 seconds? So what do you think is going to happen when the zturd hits the 'Ring? Hmmm?
You can put a big piece of shit engine into anything... that's not what makes it fast around a track....

Road and tracks test:

"Fitted with 245/45ZR-20 front and 275/40ZR-20 rear Pirelli PZero tires, our test car garnered 0.87g around the skidpad and 66.8 mph through the slalom. For comparison purposes, those are slightly better numbers than the Challenger SRT8 (0.85g and 65.0 slalom) but a far cry from the Track Pack-equipped Mustang GT (0.93g and 69.3 mph). Chevy currently doesn't have plans for a factory "track package" for the Camaro."

Don't get me wrong, it's always a consideration for me when I'm shopping, but I don't think it's reasonable to compare a more expensive car with mods to a cheaper stock vehicle. If the 135i was the same price as the Camaro, I think it's reasonable to throw modifications into the mix. As it stands right now, by the time you option a 135i up, you've got a difference of about $4k in your pocket to put the Camaro on the same level before you can even think about throwing money at the 1.

If I hadn't bought the 135i last year, I'd probably pick up an SS in a couple of months. I think it looks like a solid effort by GM. What other car in this price range is capable of 13 flat in the 1/4 mile right off the showroom floor? These things will be deep into the 12s with a set of tires and a tune..

I'm still waiting for you to tell me how well the zturd will lap the 'Ring....

And tell me more about how a modded 135 and M3 will lap faster.... You better bring plenty of mods, buddy....

If it sucks so bad, how do you explain it beating the 135i and previous M3 around The Ring?

The best thing about GM V8's is their response to bolt-ons unlike any other NA motor... It's ridiculous what you can do.... So, if we want to talk modded-for-modded, we'd have to go dollar-for-dollar. In that case, the Maro will hold its own as well....

To all the badge whores: I'm very sorry but it seems that GM has built a faster, cheaper car, not only on the strip, but on the track as well. Boo hoo. Big frickin deal. Get over it.

You don't have to tell me...my previous ride was an '05 GTO. It put down 350WHp with nothing but an airbox and a tune. The fact that the Camaro is already puttind down over 360Hp is pretty impressive. The LS3 will love a set of long tube headers.

Quit acting like you're better than everyone just because you bought an entry level BMW. Owners like you are why the rest of the world thinks BMW owners are cocks.

The Camaro looks to be a relatively inexpensive muscle car that also seems to be able to go around corners on a fairly difficult track. I'm not going to buy one, but I think that's cool, and quite refreshing.

Shitty runflat tires and the lack of 80whp for under $400

It's pretty easy to manipulate the Nurburgring lap time... Nissan got caught last year "cheating" on it...

I would put money on it that that car that was tracked had every factory upgrade like coilovers, sway bars, etc.

So here we go with the modding again. What do you think is going to happen when the Camaro driver throws the $4k he's got in his pocket at it? You don't seem to know much about building fast cars, but 6.2 liters is a lot to work with.

Your excuses truely are lame.

Newsong is the one that keeps insinuating that I am so how less intelligent for being in Texas.

If you look at my post, I was saying that many figures for the Camaro were less than even the 135i, and much less than the M3. I think it is pretty evident that the foreign cars are much better in the consumer eye, as the domestic automakers can't even make it without us bailing their failure of a company out of the hole...

With all the "factory" upgrades on that car, It probably cost more than a loaded 135i anyways...

And what factory upgrade would those be? Post up some kind of proof for your claims instead of just sounding like a butt hurt fanboy.
