Regarding the new 5D, I like the specs, but not the price.

Here in Norway the pre-order price of both the new 24-70 f/2.8L II and the 5D mkIII is exactly double of the current models.

haven't put it up on one of the main canadian suppliers sites yet, so no canadian pricing to be seen... If it's more then the US, i'll be pissed because our dollar is worth more right now...

best part is, I grew up in the smallish town that camera company is based out of.... Drove down that street about 5.3 million times. And still do on occasion

I feel bad for them as "Henry's" is the big player in southern ontario, and if you own a little shop and aren't in Toronto, you've got your work cut out for you.

I preordered yesterday from BH Photo. I've had my 5D MKII since it was originally released as well and it has served me well. I'm just deciding if I should keep the MKII as a backup or not.

Is the US price of $3499 the total price, or do you guys have to pay some tax (state sale tax?) in addition to the $3499?

In Norway the preorder price is 29990 NOK, 1 USD=5.7 NOK, so that's 5260 USD. That's incl 25% tax.

it depends where you buy from remmib. Most online retailers don't charge sales tax unless you live in the same state they have a presence in.
