I don't think of FORDs as a down grade.. Not when they make MONSTERS like this.
(I also bet the reliability is better than a 335i too)

^I've been in one of those Ford GTs... insane cars!
And awesome car @OP. I personally wouldn't get one because as a Daily Driver I opted for luxury and comfort over performance (even though the 335is has crazy potential, obviously there are more powerful and better performing options for the price). I think the exterior of the new Mustang is awesome and your car looks like a beast! Have fun!

The only thing you need to fix is the paint job...that paint scheme is as common as herpies.

LOL @ ignorance in this thread. People can't look past the badge and brand stereotypes. This car is awesome. LSD, crazy power, handles well despite its weight disadvantage, and is fairly priced. People will use any excuse to make you think you made a bad decision. 335i's are more common than premarital sex, and most are stock and otherwise boring. Enjoy your supercharged V8 power and great reliability. It looks like you have the SVT package and that car is supposed to handle even better.

I would take that GT500 all day long over my 335.

I'd trade for a GT40 but not a Mustang.
I 'm not necessarily a BMW fanboi but I've owned Fords and the build quality no where near comparable to BMW. Shakes and rattles at 30-40K. My e36 rattled less at 150K than the Ford I owned at 10K. YMMV, but just because it's fast doesn't make it good. If someone have me the Stang, I trade it for something else, but that's just me. Now give me a CTS-V........ 8-) |

Yes, the GT500... 2011 and 2012 models are lighter than previous years due to a switch to an aluminum block and a revised suspension, by about 100lbs. There is a video on youtube of a Ford Engineer massaging one around VIR in a time very close to previous Z06's... http://www.fastestlaps.com/tracks/vi...l_raceway.html |

I don't understand why folks still talk about the Mustang plowing through the corners, nothing more than a straight line car, bla bla bla. I swear it's like reading the kill stories section of BF.C
Have any of you actually drive one? Better yet have any of you even done a track event in your own Bimmer? Past few events I've done, there were few 5.0's in my run group and these things handled great. I got to run with one at both VIR and Summit and not only do they have the straight line speed but it wasn't as easy as you think it was to close the gap in the corners. The only complaint from the owners was the fact the stock brakes would fade too easily but high temp fluids and better pads solve that. I'm just not a fan of the interior but you're not getting charged for it neither so who cares? |

proper drop on that 5.0 as well. you don't see enough of them done right - at least not in these parts.

Congrats on the car. I for one welcome Ford to stick it to BMW. Hopefully this means the new M3/M4 engineers will step their game up and not be complacent.

I suppose it's necessary to mention this:
BOSS spanks M3. No arguing that. YES ON THE TWISTIES TOO. Only same-day, same driver comparison of the BOSS vs SVTPP Shelby has the Shelby winning (Streets of Willow I think it was InsideLine). So, using the transitive property of not being an ignorant assface, the Shelby spanks the M3 too. Until it heat soaks of course unless you've got some great upgraded HEs. Some incredibly ignorant people around here. That's news, right? EDIT: Also, whoever said the BMW will be more reliable is also clueless. And the comparisons we're talking about are the M3, don't even bother comparing with the 335 because it's a laugher. And talk about 335 mods all you want, the Shelby has more with better gains and is cheaper. Better bottom end too. And where do you guys get your info about depreciation? Last time I checked, the V8 Mustangs held their value better than the 335 or M3, not only the Shelby, but the GT Prem too. Do people even think before they post?
