okay here is the deal people over look on a Ferrari
() you will be in paranoid when your car is parked anywhere! () good luck on paying a 25,000-45,000 brake job (cant buy only brake pad you HAVE to buy the whole thing) (might as well buy another car with that money) () Fuel consumption () will not be your daily car () oil change is pratically like every week () tire change is not as frequent as oil but more like every 10 months so what did we learn? expensive cars comes in one heck of a price! and im excluding insurance honestly i feel sorry for those with super cars Never the less Good luck with your Ferrari

Somehow I highly doubt that.

You posted in the wrong forum man.
You are going to get so many people who will talk down on you here. Granted you have come off wrong and replied wrong. But even if you posted perfectly and in the best way. Many here will down you. Reason for that? Well shoot, many of the guys on here are 30+ and own 3 series BMW's. Now there is nothing wrong with 3 series BMW's but they are the lowest costing in America right now. And for many members this was a lot of money. It's the same when a young kid post here saying he owns a new BMW. I feel many of the older guys here get pissed that they just now got a BMW. So keep that in mind. But also I dont think you will end up with the Ferrari and that is a good choice right now. Until you can purchase it and have it not be your daily car then it is not for you.

I don't think so - it's the other cars forum, after all. And I found your assumptions about other forum members as offensive as anything the OP wrote. Ignoring that though, I think he's gotten some informatiove replies, some from Ferrari owners, iirc.
My own opinion is that, if he's looking for a daily driver sports car, the search begins and ends with Porsche. The 911 is an icon not just because of its performance, but its relative ease of use and - for a sports car - sensible running costs. And if he still wants turbo performance, an early 996 TT will run not much more than his current 335i; I also think the 996TT looks a LOT better than the new one. For a new Porsche, I'd got with a Porsche Cayman with 3.8, ala Farnbacher-Loles. |

as long as you understand and aware of the possible costs of owning a ferrari, i say go ahead and buy it, because you only live once, so buy what you want
buying a car isn't always about being 100% rational thats why people do things that doesn't make sense according to other people, but only that person will understand i say do it and enjoy it, no matter what the costs, i am sure you will figure out a way to pay for everything if you want it enough

you are probably correct... i have notice there are alot of 20's n under who have parent that are rich.. that is cool more power for ya.. When you are around 30 or so, you starting to compare thing when you buy big ticket item. Ferrari 360 look good right now. but thing about the maintance are costly and time consuming. Time is not on my side. i need it to make money for me.... i also have look into cayman S. I like the body style.. it is about M3 price.. i dont know about the 911 series n the GT series .. The design of those two series does not attract to me at all. |

The 996 or now 997 is the Carrera. A new 997 turbo can go up to around 120,000 dollars. There are many different levels to choose from. |

a little off topic...but i guess i kind of understand what LACA335i is saying. call me crazy but sometimes, i think i want to sell my car and get something "average" and use the leftover money for investing. Sounds like a good idea. of course i dont mean anytime soon, but sometime in the future. Do you have any other cars in mind besides that car you want to buy?

^What you and Luckyguy wants to do is very different.
You want to get rid of the 335i and get an average car and use the leftover money for something else. He wants to get rid of the car, and get something that is even more wowsing because he stated that he needs a car to impress his clients. |

The 996TT is a 911 twin turbo, made from 2001-2006; the new one is 997. The Cayman is 987, and is the coupe version of the Boxster (and the Boxster is cheaper than the Cayman, btw - someone above got that wrong. Actually, Porsche has it wrong - the Cayman should be cheaper than the Boxster. Heck, it should be cheaper, period. But I digress).

I was figuratively speaking.
Then it obviously had some truth to it. It was not assumptions it is either my example is right or the members are just dicks. I'd like to think they aren't just senile. Also it is not that hard to believe. When I am in my 30's I bet I would get a little angry if I am driving a vehicle many young kids are.
