Yep - I was advised the same thing at $100, $250, and $500...company is too strong financially with too loyal of a following. Even at $667, the stock is still cheap based on trailing EPS.

Besides, they still have a few tricks up their sleeve for future gadgets...and a shit load of cash. A map fix is really a microscopic issue when compared to the overall success of the phone itself. WAZE is an excellent navigator (for free) until then.

Thats awesome congrats. But you should be taking some off the table slowly on the way up. Why sell all at $800? What if it goes to $1,000? What if it never hits $800? No one ever got hurt taking a profit. I tend to be more conservative and think of it this way...if I sold some now with a large profit and then shares went up a lot I would be upset but oh well, I still profited. But if I hung on and shares plummeted I would be irate and kick myself.

Im a long time AAPL shareholder too (though not nearly as many shares as you!). Try not to get greedy because as they say...hogs get slaughtered.

^ agree. you're looking at half a million dollars. not sure what else you have, but that's a house/condo in most areas. apple's lost a good $50/share in the past 2 weeks, that's a new car right there.

don't be greedy

me: i'm conservative. main home is paid for, got a vacation home on a fixed mortgage (i can afford to lose it, hopefully i won't). and then a 3300 sq ft estate w/ pool/spa to show off a little (also paid for). dirt baby.

Apple won't come down. Maps is a very small issue. I welcomed 2009 by buying 125 shares @85 something. Not greedy but will wait till welcoming 2013.

With all the hype of iPad mini... Apple shares will surpass 750 and perhaps hit 800 by years end. I agree with ASBSECU E93. But i wouldn't sell everything at 800. I'd sell 50% at around $750 or christmas (whichever occured first). I'd then sit on the cash. The good thing about AAPL now is they are a dividend stock. I'm still hopeful for a split in the 10/1 range. This will bring the pps down below $100 and perhaps get them on the DOW.

I'm more of a glass half full type of a guy.

It was actually a better about business 10 yrs ago when it was American owned. Japanese have been taking advantage of the franchisees... But I do not own the one in Milltown. I have one each in Bergen and Passaic County and the others in Maryland.

AAPL took a beating today! My plan is to persevere until March of '13 and cash out my shares. All these snags with the iPhone 5 (maps, camera) wont dent the fourth quarter earnings report and by that time AAPL could be around $800 per share.

Yep. Did take a beating today! But once the 4th quarter is released, nothing will stop apple to go over $800. I plan on waiting until Feb also. Good luck to us! lol.

+1, should sell at least some of it right away. don't let emotions keep you attached (yeah it was a good run)

the only reason to stay in is if you're already rich and it's money you can afford to lose

I forgot to answer the main thread topic... I do brain surgery research at the Cleveland Clinic.

Well, Finasteride 1mg, commercially known as propecia, is effective at slowing the loss, you could talk to your physician about getting a prescription for that. It's a good place to start. There are a few other options that we carry as well. If you need more info, send me a PM.
I am currently taking propecia and for me it works great! Anyone looking for a product for this situation I would recommend propecia

Oh and I own a home remodeling company in NJ but do work all through out the tri-state ... Anyone ever need anything I can get you the best prices for any job
