Will the G87 M2 Competition also be offered in manual (or only base M3)? Hoping Competition will as well since it'll be RWD and also less power than the M3 Comp.

Also, any idea what the HP will be for Comp vs non-Comp? I assume the 455 hp you mention is for competition model.

Bad news for North Americans: the special M4 GT/H (the handbuilt collectible) [detailed in future models thread] doesn't seem to be coming to this side of the ocean.

Noway

How's that possible?

What side of the ocean is it going to? And how many?

This is very sad, what does the GT/H stand for? Is this like an e36 M3 GT type of homage?

As the G8x share lights will the G80 M3 LCI from 07/22 also get the new M headlight option that the M4 CSL will as they are introduced at same time?

Fair question, but if I were a betting man, I'd say the manual will only be available on the base model. I think BMW likes the faster acceleration times from the auto with the Competitions. And, arguably, it is better for lap times.

My guess is that the competition will have the M3 base engine which is available with the 6MT.

That's what I'm hoping for. That way I can get the extra power from the factory and won't have to individually option a lot of the things that would come with the comp. Oh well, we'll wait and see but I really am not expecting the manual to be offered on the comp given how things are trending

If that makes it to production that would be a nice canvass for a track car!

Perhaps, but not if it weighs over 3,700lbs…

Where the M60 S68 hybrid will coexist with a full M model should we expect to see that m model move up to the 650hp s68 version from the XM? (I am thinking about the x5/x6 M)

Thank you!

Under G60/G61/G68 5er, do the 545e and 550e outputs need to be updated?

Thanks. That post does tend to run away from me from time to time.

More clarity for the puzzling renaming of X7 M50i to M60i. This actually applies to all new models with S68 or older models switching from N63 to S68: they will all get "60" instead of previously planned "50". Examples: 750i->760i, X5/X6/X7 M50i->M60i. I am almost certain that the 535hp output I'm seeing for S68 in these cars is just the ICE part, and it will be supplemented by a large addition of boostable power from the electric motor.
In the general section it says s68 will be a mild hybrid. Does this mean the mild hybrid puts out a large amount of power now, or we will be seeing plug-in hybrid like in the XM?

The exact configuration of the S68 in its various applications is invisible to me, and I won't be able to tell anything about it besides what I've already said. We'll have to wait until May or June when BMW will publish the marketing materials on G70, including the specifications of 760i.

Concerning the G70...

I didn't found any information...
Is there going to be for Europe a short- and longwheel G70?
What about the i7?

Interesting, not asking you, but thinking out loud....

I wonder if the Gen2 "mild" hybrid system has a good enough battery and powerful enough motor that it will function closer to a traditional non-plug-in hybrid instead of just an upgraded starter motor that can apply a small extra kick from time to time.

There's only one wheelbase this time.
