Yup! I call it having to wait for the needle to hit that place on the record in my brain again. Drives me crazy.

I've been fighting this battle for years. I leave a room to get or do something and it seems as soon as I cross the doorway, my mind goes completely blank of what I needed/needed to do. I'll go back into the other room to look around to see if something jogs my memory. At the same time, I have no clue how things don't slip between the cracks at work with as many projects as I juggle. I go back and forth between being a kung fu master of attention to detail, to complete dumb ass in a split second.

What amazes me is when I worked for a living I had a very hectic job with travel, customer visits, long term projects with deadlines, etc. I kept a daytimer but really didn't need it. I knew when I opened my eyes in the AM what I had to get done. Now I get up and leave this computer and by the time I left the room I've no idea why.

I keep gong back in time because the new stuff does suck badly, and purchasing rarities or lP's i don't have on Amazon. For example, listening to original Fleetwood Mac; Live at the Boston Tea Party with Peter Green on lead guitar (maestro) who just passed from gulp, 1970. Quite a bit different than the Stevie Nicks hit making machine. Excellent guitar and musicianship-unavailable today.

I'll disagree on WD-40. It is a water-displacer (WD) and penetrant...NOT a lubricant. Someone needs to edumicate Hank Hill that locks should only be lubricated with dry lubricants, such as graphite. Since this is the old farts thread, we all should remember how useful WD-40 was back in the day for drying out wet ignition wires on cars/motorcycles.

I don't know if you have shoplifting problems in Germany, but here in the US packages are intentionally designed to be difficult to open so that low-lifes don't pop them open in the stores and steal one or more parts.....
so many times i had to spray the inside of my distributor cap on the vw, my buddy tripped out on that magic

The low last night was 39.6 F here, and this afternoon's high didn't break 70 F. I must be getting old, because I actually thought about putting on a sweater this morning.....

I would definitely be wearing a sweater or second layer. Brrrr. Not fit for man or beast in that. Course, I HAVE turned into a desert rat here in AZ.

Younger Neighbour invited me over for “guys” night, his wife took kids to the in-laws. Anyways I popped over to see what this new generation of family guys do for guys night. They were all wearing headsets and playing an Xbox, call of duty or something. Nice guys but I don’t play video games. I stuck around for a bit To be social but had to leave.

I spent a weekend in Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava in the 80's. Cool place. I remember sitting by a bar on very comfy lounge chairs while a waiter in a tux brought us beers and food and we took in the ...um... sights. I recall a restaurant with a wine fountain. Good times.

When you do a really stupid thing and have no recollection of having done it. Considering dementia runs strong in my family, this has me worried.
