I love me a good packing job. Hate it when something semi-fragile is shipped in a flimsy envelope. But this is a bit of overkill. This is a card about the size of a credit card. It's just a license key for Surveillance Station. It came totally wrapped in thick bubble wrap and then stuffed in a very solid box. It drives me nuts in the first place that I can't just download a license key in the first place. But this is just silly.

With my severe CHF, 15% EF, and constant afib, I used to be the perfect test case for automatic devices. There were times that it would take 3-4 tries for a BP meter to catch both ends of my pulse, and they would just keep inflating until hitting maximum pressure blowing past my 95/75 BP. I have noticed that all of my doctors have fallen back to using manual stethoscopes and BP cuffs in their offices. The screening nurse at my primary care doctor still tries to use an OTC pulse-ox meter on me, but then winds up fetching the professional one from another exam room when it won't lock onto a reading with my cold fingers and lack of blood flow. The most interesting thing to me is watching all of these devices fail on simply determining my pulse rate. It is 100% electronically paced, and you can set your watch on it being 70 BPM.....

Not sure. I'll bring it into the doctor's office next time I have an appointment. See how it compares to the mechanical method. That said, it had a lot of good reviews on multiple "review" sites for what it's worth. My standard process for purchases.. especially on items I have no clue on... read blood pressure monitors, bathroom scales (which I just purchased as well)... Ps. Down from 277 lbs since March (now weigh 216).

I picked myself up an early Christmas present to add to my toolbox. It’s a Dewalt XR 20v jigsaw. It came with another bag , charger and ( 2 ) 20v 5ah batteries.

My current NAS is 8TB and a big chunk of that is taken up by all my RAW photo files. This new NAS will be 12TB in RAID5, which should be plenty. I don't plan on adding many more RAW files as I'm not as active with photography these days, so there will be way more data space available for backing up all the devices in the house. Synology has an excellent client app for PC and Macs for doing incremental backups. My iPhone pics even get backed up automagically.

I am completely satisfied with the DS918+ that I purchased early in the COVID lockdown. It runs several Docker containers for network gadgets/services that I used to run on standalone Raspberry Pi computers, plus a VM for my Home Assistant deployment.....

The DS220+ makes an excellent NVR when you run Surveillance Station. People always complain about the per camera license fee, but a good 8MP (4k) PoE camera runs about $85 and the license is $59, so you're still under the $150+ that crappy USB cameras like the Logitech Circle View or the Eufy stuff cost. And the image quality and 24x7 recording just blows those other systems away. I now have 11 PoE cams on my system.
