Ok let me correct myself.

GM has ONE HOLY GRAIL CAR, the corvette. That's it.

Their racing pedigree first gets implemented in their corvette street cars first.

Porsche has a thousand models. People want to compare a 911 turbo s to a corvette. Then a GT2RS. Then a GT3RS. Then a GT3. Then people say a 911 carerra is the one to get over a stingray. But then so is the 718 GT4. But what about just a regular 718 since it starts under 70k? yada yada yada.

Well I have had 4 Vettes, 3 of which were Z06's one of which was stock, one with 800 rwhp, and two with 1000 rwhp.

I was always just going to get the C8Z, no matter what engine it had or how it sounded. The fact that its the last NA ICE and sounds like a million bucks just reinforces the idea that I will keep it forever. It's sick.

What i'm saying is that porsche has so many different models. My example of a 718 is that it's porsche's "entry level" porsche, which starts under 70k, about the same price as a stingray. Compare the numbers and stats of the 2. Not the 718 GT4, just the 718 in it's price point comparing to the stingray.

The stingray, in base form, is a mid engine DCT V8 car that is constantly being compared to 200-300k supercars. That's just the stingray.

The C8Z is GM's first supercar in my eyes until it fails on the track and it's not even released yet persay, 2 youtubers have showcased the car and people are shitting on it.

Porsche models have always been more expensive, which my 718 example is proof of that. Their entry level sports car is at the price point of the stingray. So more expensive doesn't always mean better. Did i say that in this thread?

Exactly. That's my mindset as well. My C7Z is my 3rd corvette. My stingray coming will be my 4th and the C8Z coming right after it will be my 5th. I don't intend on keeping the stingray for more than 2 years. I might even trade it the day i pick up my C8Z, depending on the timeline. With how dumb these allocations have been so far with the C8Z, now i'm starting to doubt a 2023 spring delivery for me which sucks. Maybe summer 2023 i hope.

The C8Z is my forever car. Dodge just revealed their EV charger a couple of days ago. Which is cool. But meanwhile GM puts out an NA car making almost 700hp and people are annoyed lol.

Talk about corvette haters to the fullest! Can't wait to make more people drool when i get my C8's.

How can someone be so mad someone is calling this a supercar? Even speedphenom who actually owns supercars calls this a supercar. Emelia has said this is a supercar and she owns supercars. She took it to hoonigan where those guys owns supercars and even they said that the car is now a supercar.

When other magazine owners get this car for testing, they'll call this a supercar. When randy pobst gets this car, he'll most likely say the same thing.

But yet a couple of dudes on a bimmer forum who says it isn't, and we should preach that like it gospel lol.

What I haven't figured out is why manufacturers like GM and Ford are content to allow dealerships to grab all this additional cash above MSRP and not get a cut of it. What the dealers are doing is simply because they can, supply vs demand. I don't like it because dealers are shady, unprincipled assholes, but I understand why.

Things will be much better when manufacturers sell directly. When you order your car online you'll probably have locked in the price, and won't have a crooked dealer telling you that the number you put a deposit down on is no longer going to happen.

markups are what they are. its capitalism. if you don't want to pay the 90k markup you don't have to. someone else will. if they don't, then dealerships will lower their price.

as for 'supercar' its up to the person how they define it. its a gray area. everyone has their own criteria: rarity, performance, sound, looks, etc. how you weigh each one is up to you. For instance their are twice as many huracans as there are LC500s. likewise, a GTR or C7Z would stomp a ferrari 458 in most performance metrics.
