I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you go live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, go collect all your super, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, and you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last 9 months floating with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, then you finish off as an orgasm! Amen.

Yeah house > car. I take possession of my first home (loft) in 41 days. And here's the difference between homes and cars. I bought my place off plan and in the 14 months since I signed on the dotted line its value has increased by about 130t!
for me it goes 1) Family 2) House 3) Investments 4) School 5) Cars |

I just turned 25, live in an apt, and own a 04 ZHP coupe.
I don't know how long I will be living in this area so I see no point in purchasing a home if I don't plan on living in it for at least 8-10 years. Especially houses in this area (Northern Va) cost nearly half a million for a 1 floor 3 bedroom 2 bath house. I don't have that kind of cash to spend on such a small house....when in places like Atlanta that could get you a huge 5,000sq ft. crib! |

For all we know he could be making the whole thing up. It wouldn't be the first time this kind of thing has happened, even here on E90Post. You can never really know for sure who you are dealing with and where the truth really lies on a public forum. Some people just like to make sh!t up to try and impress others. If I were rich and owned a $2.5 million house in NPB and a $100,000 car I wouldn't be bragging about it online. Would you?

Sorry, but it just struck me as odd that you would state the $2.5mil value of your house (and other personal info attesting to your wealth) to total strangers during your first day of forum membership. Most people that responded just stated their priorities. Typically, unless they have some kind of agenda, such as oneupmanship, wealthy people don't brag about their wealth in public. But hey, if thats your style don't let me get in your way.

I don't see where I was bragging about anything, I only mentioned my home one time to address a point. Maybe the problem you have is with your own insecurities, and not with me. Have you considered that? Hope you have a nice day. |

GTFO :P I wan't a house out of the ordinary like that when I grow up.. Eff everyone else living in a cul-de-sac.. Quote:
"Oh heyyy, thats a nice purse you have, where did you get it??" "Oh, just the louie vuitton store." Even though a knock off looks exactly the same. Terrible waste of money, but a lot of people have no sense when it comes to spending their money. Granted some people have the money to waste, and like to spend it on expensive stuff that they don't need.. Let me give you two examples.. (One of which was today at whataburger.) Me and two of my friends met up at whataburger to eat lunch.. Two girls show up that one of them knows, one girl is all Gucci'd and Coached out. She sits down and we immediately notice her purse and ask if it's real.. (of course) Then she ask's if she could trade my friend for his sunglasses for a day or so.. (Like 100$ ray bans) She then pulls a pair of Gucci and some other sunglasses out.. (I think she did it just to show off after we asked her about her purse.) Purse was $250 I think?? both sunglasses were $300+ each.. Then I went on about, I don't see how you can spend 300 or more on glasses when they break so easily.. Maybe the purse, but not the sunglasses. Long story short, when they left, the gucci girl was the one riding in the passenger seat. Then on the school bus in high school this kid would always brag about how rich he was, and how his family had a hummer on rims.. Yet he always got off in the trailer park?? WHY do people spend all of their money on their car now a'days?? It doesn't matter when you have to take the person back to your house. I'll finish this post later, going to walmart with the pops. -Nathan

Speak more directly, sarcasm can't be detected over the internet.
And I have no clue what you are trying to say.. Maybe you are trying to get that we we're trying to see how classy she was by if it was real or not?? If so, we we're just wondering. I personally laughed on the inside whenever she said it was real.. Anyways, whenever we were sitting down she unloaded all the stuff she was carrying, and my friend asked if it was real. (The one that knew her) Me and my other friend had never met her before, but she was obviously trying to front an image. EDIT: I see what you were getting at now.. I forgot we live in a society where it is taboo to talk about money, and how much things cost.. Which is pretty ironic when you think about it, because our society is based on money.. That's pretty much all people care about. I guess if you mention anything about money then you must have no class at all, after all only the people in lower society talk about money. Did you know that the number one cause of divorce is money issues, and mainly because family's refuse to talk about their financial situation. I should move to china where it is alright to ask questions about money. A lot of the stuff our culture does is a joke.. Like mindlessely asking someone how they are, because it is the polite thing to do. 99% of the people that ask that question in the U.S. don't actually give a shit how you are. They expect nothing more than a "Great, how are you??", even though you may be having the worst day of your life, people don't want to hear about it. I can justify $300 on a watch, because it will last a few years, but sunglasses that expensive is ridiculous.. All of the $300 sunglasses I tried on at this one place were more uncomfortable than 10$ glasses as well. So many people live beyond their means now, and feel the need to 'dress to impress'. Why front an image of something that you aren't?? On another(more calm) note, I don't see why you would pay $1.3 billion for a 2700sqft home, when you could move somewhere else and get one for much less.. But who knows, you may like the lifestyle out there, or your job may restrict where you can live.. People raised in Cali have a whole different mindset than those raised in Texas. Southeast of Houston in this fairly small city of La Porte where there is an ordinance in place to keep subdivisions from being built(Nice area and land, but it is pretty boring).. My dad drew up the plans for a house and my brother helped modify it to his liking(one of the perks of building your own house, I didn't really care what the layout was like), had them approved/improved by an architect, and hired a person to bring his crew out and build most of the house. 2800sqft on the house with about a 1200sqft separate garage, the garage is a two story with a room up top. All for a little over $160,000.. Whenever I hear you all talk about blowing almost a million or more on housing that is so small compared to the price.. it amazes me. Personally, if I was a millionaire I wouldn't blow all of my money on a fine house, and a $200k car.. I would buy as much land as I could in some place that I like a whole lot.. Probably Iceland or the Isle of Mann.. -Nathan

I live at home with my mommy!
LOL.. I'm 21 and I wish I could move out right now, but I just don't have the funds. I think getting a 335i was a mistake in my case, but I learned my lesson, and after this I plan on getting something a little more practical, and save up some money for the long run. I only have one year left on this car anyways. |

Some people wouldn't want to live in Houston, and opt to pay more to live in California. It's just personal choice. I know personally I wouldn't live in Texas even if the housing were free. I don't like the weather, and California beaches are the best in the world.

You might have been in San Francisco or somewhere further North. Southern California beaches are known throughout the world as being great. It's neither too cold or too humid here, people sing songs about Southern California weather. Of course, it cost an arm and a leg to live here. But you pay for what you get.
