319 mil (US total population) divide by 5.1%


~16.27mil Asians in US.

Then you compare the ratio of inmate population vs % of Asian.

Let's just say if Asian inmates are 1% of population in prison, it would be LOW relative to the population.

Let's just say if Asian inmates are 7% of population in prison, it would be HIGH relative to the population.

When ever he was troubled by something, I used to go for a walk with him, and him being a silent man, it usually took a few miles for him to say what was bothering him. My favorite above all of his rants was when the news hit the media that Estonian prisoners had increased by 200+ percent.

"Anna. I get a fuck load of shit for not supporting building a new prison for our foreign prisoners. I've spent my day trying to explain to politicians that 200% is not that much if go from 2 to 6 and they just ignore it. You want to be a journalist? Go for it, but fucking learn how to count first"

I dont think you know the definition of term "incarceration rates" for an ethnic group. It's the number of individuals arrested over a year period per 100,000 of that particular ethnic group.

Hispanics have higher incarceration rates than Whites even though there are less Hispanics than Whites incarcerated.

Asians have lower incarceration rates than Whites, that means per 100,000 Asians there are fewer Asians in prisons than Whites per 100,000 Whites in this country.
