The only thingy on this epically funny site we are not talking about is an excavator, a digging thingy. When my kiddos electronics are not Ina box the list of words a thingy expands, expands!

The day started with a broken me and a door that was clearly fucking with me. After I created an alternative entry with a rock saw (the house only had 4 entries. I might have been in a mood in the morning and I needed a hole for my dog hauling entry.).

Anyway, from that it went to shit, but I think I can get the second bedroom done this weekend since the hubby is doing some (pronounced all) heavy and hard work on the sites that are crucial. A new tool was added to my banned tool list but I'm too tired to figure out what it is in English.

Honest to fucking coffee. I might get to take out a wall or two, or a room or two, and I get to dig a few holes around the house and I bitch and moan and complain endlessly for them. Imagine being married to a bitch who can do most of the work on her own, but you'd be stuck with the shit nobody never thinks about FOR AS LONG AS IT WORKS!

Anyway, after this bedroom I'll go take down the bathrooms and the old living rooms and the kitchen and the library. That'll be a whole lot of crap to haul out but that's the easy shit. Honestly, if anyone is under any illusion of me being skilled, currently hubby handles the sewers and I get to do all easy interiors (fine I also do insulations, draining, roofs, windows, doors and basically everything besides rats and sewers).What ever that can be redone easily, what he does makes shit flow the wrong way.. and I got kicked out from the shit flow site.

Anyway, a few tougher than normal days are behind us and perhaps at some point during the next two weeks I'll grow the balls to tell the family the kind truth of us having to move out from our home since I rented it out starting soon. I also might have sold our spare flat to finance this project.

Now don't worry! This is by far not even near the most insane stunt I've pulled in the 15 years or some less we've been married! He might kill me for the plumbing, but me waiting an other week to tell him we are homeless is an other Friday (hell no, not this one, next week) for him!

I should have an other bedroom done tomorrow (mostly) and after that it'll be a week of demolishing for me. Hubby will have a Friday off next week so then I'm hoping we will have a working bathroom to work on, at this point I'm willing to learn how to use a microwave thingy to cook for a week.

Hey I've voluntarily taken a bath. Mostly because my wife was already in there. And it wasn't because I had a sudden interest in getting clean.

But otherwise I'd agree, showers are far faster so much preferred.

I'm guessing it is one of those heavy claw foot tub monstrosities.

Nope, it's a tub with a built in radiator with a cement gasket(?). I have a picture somewhere I can look for as soon as my ears stop ringing.

You know what any decent renovator needs? Patience.

I have plenty of that on the old side, hell I'm restoring old wood trims done by a one handed man 70 years ago there and my electrician says that saving the old, original fuse box means he as to reroute from the new box everything so I've drilled the holes for his cords. I have patience on the old side!

On the new side... Not so much. Stupid walls started to fuck with me and after a few hours of completely rational and acceptable, methodical tearing down, I brought in my trusted sledge hammer and kept stinging it as long as I only had stamp size bits left. I spent hours cleaning it up since if the hubby had seen that show, well you know how whipped I am. It's pathetic.

Today at the bathroom I again was organized. I took down all the tiles, carried out the seat in one piece, the sink was in perfect working order when I dumped it in my trash pile.. then I took out my anger to the bath tub and the tub won gloriously. I still haven't figured out how they got it in the room even since taking down the door and the door frame didnt help enough.

Anyway, back to that I go after some calming breaths have been taken and the kids have eaten. I'm also taking the kids with me there since nothing keeps the stupid within me hidden as well as their laughter.

The old side foyer is so full of stuff right now it ain't even funny. I'm also taking down walls around that room right now, so that's one isolated oasis of a temporary radiator and not done electrics. My electrician (the cutie with the lazy eye and a few missing fingers) is coming tomorrow again so then those should be done.

I'm trying to take down all that I can tomorrow and start the rebuild of the new side tomorrow. The old side is a dream to work on since I basically try to conserve everything and absolutely nothing older than 70 is destroyed. My aunt came by tonight to tell me she thinks I'm insane because I'm making her flip through old pics of her childhood and the the childhood of her mother's to help me include things to each room that are from those days.

See the flower hanging on the cieling? It is hanging from an old metal cord they had in their first water using toilet. The little thing in the corner was her first desk she got around the same age Lili, my girl is. On the chimney, the hooks are originals and those are from the 1920's. The cieling wood trimmings are 73 year old and the box I built to the end of the bed is there to give a platform for teddy bears but also to hide the massive logs on the wall I found letters in between from from our civil war days and I thought they should stay hidden but with an access point.

I've done a ton of renovating shit but this has become a true labor of love site. I couldn't find radiators that fit the style of the rooms so I fucking bought glass ones I can remove for the non heating seasons. I haven't told the hubby yet, but there is a chance we will have a fire place in our room since I think I figured out who took it down in the 60's and I know for a fact that her offspring has not entered her storage facilities since. I have hired a historian and a preservation expert and both of them think I'm nuts since they wintessed an exchange with my electrician on Monday.

I get to keep the original box, and it will be in use. We also agreed that I will not be allowed ever again bring up style and electronic thingies of any kind again while my husband or our electrician are on site. I also promised to never name an other thingy that uses fuses again. Cars not included.

I have two boys, and two girls. I just never mention the girls since I'm even more protective of them than the boys. That's just about all I can say about them online and even hitting send on this is a huge issue for me. Many people here know about them. SakhirM4 fan is the occupant of this room.

I think the blue (purple)room occupant is still shy about contacting Shakira. I passed along his email address to the parents who's child tutor mine in weird shit weekly since they don't teach physics in the fourth grade here because they wanted to send their thanks for inspiring their kid too. I don't think they did tho, we finns are weird. As odd as it sounds, this forum is a tight community and people like you know just how protective I am of my family but also, how willing I'm to share them.

This project is so different from anything I've ever done previously. I was supposed to buy an other house last spring when my aunt called me for help. The street view pic is missing a line of those over grown bushes since those were taken down by wind. I took my kids in the evening to help her out and she thought my kids would like to see the house.

I was a weekly visitor there when I found out I had a great aunt in the 90's. The former occupant, Kaarina, is the one my first born is named after since she was the only positive female role model I had while growing up. While we were walking around the house filled with stuff, my first born told my aunt she really doesn't want to move in the house I was buying. "This is my room. If you won't sell this house to my mom, wait ten years and I'll buy it."

A week later the aunt called and asked me if I was interested. I told her straight away I'd take it but that I would need a month or two to finance it. I'm no stranger to debt but it became clear Finland and banks don't work at summer time.

It's ugly as fuck from the outside. The interior is filled with stuff since my aunt used it as a storage ever since her mother died 16 years ago. If you ever need a 19th century book or newer, I'm your source. I have so many boxes of handmade lace in my hands nobody besides me spends time drooling over them.

Then there is the furniture and the hundreds of years of history around it. It is next to a viking burial grounds owned by my relatives. I get to wake up every day in two weeks surrounded by our civil war, our ancient history, the trees that are older than people I can name, hell I named my fuse box so it would feel he (he has a temper...) still has a place. I can't make myself put any bathrooms in the old side of the house since they'd mess with the flow of the place.

I am in the process of updating my will. Only my kids can buy others out from it, but it has to remain in the family. My lawyer kindly told me there is no way of doing that if I won't do open houses and make it a museum so...

I guess I'm going to live in a museum soon. I'm willing to take the financial hit but I truly want that piece to have a life beyond my own, beyond my kids. I want all it to show. This will be my last home. When I'm in a grave I want to know I left my mark to something that's pretty fucking epic.

No secret well kept here. I talk about my girls here all the time, I just write about them without using the he/she thingy. They're always the posts with the mention "the kid" and so on.

It's hard to explain why I work pretty much around the clock without mentioning I have kids while not having a normal job but as told here often I have had the shittiest female role models so I'm extremely protective.

Everyone who is a good friend of mine here knows about them. I thought you did too btw, it's on me how strict I'm when it comes to sharing.
