If they truly botch up this G8X, it'll be for the worst. There's a lot at stake with that car.

Well. I won't be a repeat customer for sure. The design direction has really turned me off. Moving on.

What is your definition of botching up the G8x?

What is your definition of botching up the G8x?
  • Not offering an MT (..which I think they will)
  • Slighting MT buyers by offering less HP than the other models
  • Butchering the front end
  • Forcing packages and not offering stripper cars

Nah. BMW isn't Porsche. It's all about CUV/SUV's now and as long at they are appealing the company is in a good place.

Gentlemen (and ladies), have you considered about what the survey is really saying, bottomline? None of the brands -- not a single one -- could retain more than 40-some-odd percent of its prior buyers. More than half go looking for something else. This and the other Bimmer board certainly reflect that, too. The difference with a Lexus, MB or Bimmer is you pay more -- probably a lot more -- for 43% satisfaction.

Curious as to what made you despise the Lexus after 2 short years?

Numerous things actually:

1) Slow.
2) Bad gas mileage.
3) Terrible infotainment design.
4) The design of the car did NOT grow on me. I never got used to the styling and grew to not like it at all.
5) No leather.
6) No driver memory seat.
7) No analog speedometer.
8) Did I mention it was slow?

Only good thing I liked and miss were the A/C seats.

BMW does need to kind of step it up and offer real cooled seats on the 3 series.

I'm not surprised at Jaguar, but Maserati ranking so high is surprising.
We are not talking about buying a Maserati on a whim, for whatever reason. We are talking about buying a second one, knowing what to expect!

Loyalty doesn't require driving dynamics. As long as car is hassle free, rides nice, looks good and has a good name value, people will come back to it. I think Lexus and MB does that very well.
Now for BMW, it's more of a "maniac" crowd than "loyal". Typical so called BMW "loyalist" admires Porsche or higher performance brands and tend move on as soon as their status elevates. But Lexus and MB loyalist really don't give a shit about other cars, they will just stick to their S, E class or LX,EX forever.
