Cross Plane + Full Akra = I'm not sure if I want to get into another bike straight away, if I do it will be a S1KRR no doubt Just wish a dealer around me had one for me to look at. Also was thinking of putting the money into the E46....

So my S1 is in for maintenance today and dealer gave me 848 w/termis on it for a loaner. I don't quite know what to think of this bike. Its nimble, sounds great but it feels gutless. Not because i am used to a liter bike tq but it feels like nothing happens when you twist that throttle

PS. Those Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas for like slicks for the street. They grip better than my K3s.

Yesterday I traded my 998 Bayliss replica basically straight across to the dealership for a brand new Hypermotard 100sp. I wasn't riding the Bayliss, it was flawless, and irreplaceable, only had 2k miles, and I wasn't using or enjoying it, so I traded it for something I'll ride and enjoy.

I need to go pick it up, I'lll post pics as soon as I get it home.

I love the hypermotard. Great bike!

Next year I want to pick up a sport classic 1000 mono. Hard to find though.

I agree. I didn't have any gear on that day because that's the day my S1 finally came into the dealer. I went straight from work to the dealer.

Nice! I own a Daytona 675 and my brother owns the Street Triple R. The Street Triple R is definitely the better bike; handle bars, more low-end torque and a comfy seat make it much more practical. Congrats!

Guys, whats your views on commuting wear i.e. Leather or textiles?

I presume most, if not all of you live in much sunnier climates than Scotland so this may be a pointless Q. I have my bike test in the coming weeks, and I'm looking to start buying my kit.

However, due to the weather over here I'm torn between buying textiles or a leather two piece.

Leathers look the part and are great protection, where textiles offer the weather protection and also good safety.

Any ideas/suggestions based on experience?

i will admit, i have not read the entire thread, so what i say may be taken the wrong way.

i wear jeans, gloves, helmet and short sleeve shirts.

i don't currently wear a jacket, but i am currently looking at purchasing one.

they're freaking expensive.

and in Houston, riding around in 101 degree heat with 55% humidity will get you killed HAHA !!!!

Gotta disagree. I rode the Speed Triple (almost same riding position) and it was just... Mundane. Bars too high and bar reach too close... Kind of hard to hang off. But it was nice and torquey, I'll give you that.

Go for a leather jacket and specialized textile pants with knee guards. You'll appreciate the comfort for the lower and the protection of the upper. A full suit is also not that expensive; just don't go for Alpinestars because you're only paying for the name. A nice suit can be had for under $400 and leathers are one-use only so there's point dumping a bunch of money there. You crash, you replace it.

Kinda like the 1198 with Termis. 4k is 90 and passing people doesn't require down-shifting.
