Why not replace brake pads with Endless ones? That's what I plan for my G80.

Hey everyone. Having just taken delivery of my G80 two weeks and just having completed my first detail wash, I thought I'd add my .02 to this thread. In general, I was prepared to really hate cleaning these wheels. I have to say it was nowhere nearly as bad as I suspected. These wheels have one huge thing in their favor...space. There is tons of space to get your hand and tools into. Yes there are a lot of surfaces to clean, but you're not contorting brushes and trying to "dental floss" with rags.
First, you need a good set a brushes. I went with these from Chemical Guys. Typically not a huge fan of their stuff, but these brushes work for me here. https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...98&sr=8-13 The large brush gets the barrels easily. It's a little tough to get behind the front caliper but that's no biggie. The smaller brush can get in behind that groove in the main spokes and the medium one in the surfaces of all the gaps. In terms of chemicals, I'm a fan of Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus. Spray a little on and let it sit a minute before agitating. Never work the wheels dry. Now these are complicated wheels so you are guaranteed to leave some fine dirt behind. After the car dries, I just do a touch up with a microfiber utility rag and some quick detailer. Remember...never work them dry!!! Here a pic and gratuitous clean car shot.

I live in Germany and buy Sonax Wheel Cleaner by the gallon. It makes cleaning the 826M wheels a breeze especially if they are ceramic coated (2 coats).

And are you rinsing it alot? Otherwise you're just pushing dirt around. I used to spray down the brush and Mitt before even rinsing them in the dirty water bucket otherwise it would be black after the first dip. Once you finally get em clean keep up the maintainence and it won't be so hard. I waxed my wheels once...didnt seem to make much of a difference. Ceramic coating might help but was always cost prohibitive for me. |

They totally suck to clean. I used brake buster. I don't think it's strong enough. Is sonax that much better?

The problem with ceramic coating the wheel barrels is the next time you get your wheels balanced, unless you treat the specific areas first, your wheel weights tend to fly off more easily.

The ease of cleaning comes down to what you are using
Small brush for the lug nuts and behind the spokes and the calipers Cone soft brush for the barrel and slits Chemical guys wheel all purpose brush for the face I spray with water, spray with wheel cleaner, soap the wheel brush When all the wheel has been cleaned, rinse, and blow dry with leaf blower |
