I just had this dilemma today! Today was trash day. Was out on a long walk. Dog pooped three fricking times. Picked them all up. Now I got three bags. I'm walking past house after house that has trash bags sitting at the edge of the properties. (Neighborhood doesn't allow cans.) I just couldn't get myself to dump the bags in a neighbor's trash bag. There were some very tempting open yard clean up bags......sooo tempting! And then------there was a construction dumpster! Toss! Boom! Done! Mwuahahahaha

Why wouldn't you dump them in actual trash bags?

Just don’t wanna get that hairy eyeball from someone backing out of their driveway while I’m making a “contribution” to their trash bag! Awkward! hahaha

I saw a lady dog-walker pitch her bag of dog poop down a storm drain the other day.

Several years ago, the fad was a bit different where folks did bag the dog poop, but left the bag on the curb.

Great! Some urban areas have mixed sewer/storm drains. That plastic bag either wound up clogging the bar screens at a sewer plant (mixed system) or else washed straight into the nearest waterway if the storm drains are independent of the sewers.

Mw DW used to work as a water/wastewater plant operator, and had to rake the bar screens almost hourly on rainy days to clean up garbage that people threw down storm drains or was washed in as litter.....

Our storm drains drain into the creek, which drains into the ocean, next to our most popular beaches.

I'm just a homeowner, and the first bit of rain (yeah, this happens a LOT in SoCal) I end up in my rain suit, boot, and shovel walking to the end of the block and clearing all the drains. If not, I need a row boat to get out my driveway. I have strong feelings of dislike for people who park their car with the tires touching the curb on such days, that water doesn't flow then either.

It is strangely therapeutic to pop that water zit!

Few years ago at the apartment complex I lived at, this one lady would put the bag on her hand and "catch" the poop as it exited her dog... Weirdest shit I've ever seen.

You really should just bare hand it if you want to throw it down a drain.

Don't know if this was mentioned on 6 pages, but we found a blue baggie thrown into our front yard bushes about 3 feet from the grass on the sidewalk where an owner had cleant up after there little POS and then throw it in our garden,
If I ever saw that happen or when my CCTV ever get's up and running, the owner would be eating his dog's mess

yeah that kind of crap (pun intended) is completely uncalled for. i see doodie bags left on garden walls, fences, curbs, etc...left by dog-owners who shouldnt own a dog. gives all of us -- most of whom are trying to do the right thing -- a bad name.

I walk most nights and have to carry a flashlight to watch where I step because of rude inconsiderate people.

Pick up your dog's shit and dispose of it properly. Lazy dicks!

If (it seems from the quantity I find on my front and sometimes back lawn) the neighborhood doesn't particularly care about where dogs crap, then it's cool for me to simply open my door and let the pooch out, right?

Don't know about other cats but mine goes in a litter box. Just scoop it into a bag and throw it in the trash. I clean it daily. Actually I have 2 litter boxes in my house. My 10yo cat hasn't made a mistake yet. My cat is also a total house cat.

For me it's not safe to let my cats out. They can get in to fights and get diseases and get hit by cars. Used to let my cats out in the past and one caught feline leukemia (which is fatal) from a stray cat and it spread to other cats so I don't let them out anymore.

Cats appear to do it privately, in bushes, etc. Dogs go straight just like their owners (that's why I don't really favour both).

When on a seashore I walk on a spectacular pathway along/above the sea. Grass/bushes/trees are right on both sides of it, but the pavement is all covered with dark stains I know the origin of: I saw locals "dump" their dogs right under the feet. Couldn't (chose not to) interfere as it was like their land (a foreign country to me). When choosing (custom build ) sunglasses I opted to order polarized for added safety.
