M5 G90 got cancelled for Brazil due to this current mess. Apparently this is the first M5 we won't have here. Crazy times.

It isn't only Brazil as well, the car won't be available in other markets too.

Sorry to hear that, maybe you can get one via grey market.

Just curious, is the “current mess” relating to US tariffs or some other event(s)?

Like not... X5M in base form is 220k USD once you convert it. Not sure of taxes or local fees.

@CarlosM4...i would be curious as to why they pulled it. Maybe a low seller vs an SUV and not worth.

Combination of everything actually. Brazilian economy isn't doing stellar (combination of very high interest rates, inflation and devalued currency).

And the current tariff mess. The information I got from BMW corporate is that the Brazilian market is too much of a hassle now to get a car to be homologated for sales here. And given the expected prices, they were not expecting too many orders. Plus the economic outlook meant they rather focus on other projects. They offered me a M3 CS

Grey market is not really worth it. There is almost 80% tax over importing plus transport fees and insurace are taxed too. The 135k USD for a spec of my liking would end up somewhere in the ballpark of 250k usd here, which is R$ 1.5mm.

The expectation was for the car to be sold at R$ 1.3mm

Yeah, fees and taxes are a pain here. I was not expecting it. Apparently there were not many pre-orders here as well (only 15 customers showed interest and put a name down). Given the economic scenario, and how bad our roads are, they just f.... it and moved on.

The X5 M Competition of 220k usd is something like 130-140k USD MSRP car, so that gives you an insight on overall pricing here.

Given that BMW won't sell the M5 here, I will await the RS and AMG (although RS6 likely is not coming too), so we will probably end up in a P-Car.

It must be super disappointing. Not your other options, but that you don’t have the M5 as an option.
