sadly, too many people think like this... You should drive the car you like. It shouldn't be a measure of your wealth. Too many people put their esteem in external things (men often do it with cars).

Why do you assume he's "wealthy" because he makes 200K a year? San Francisco is the highest in terms of cost of living in the US. After taking home 120K, I'm sure he lives comfortably, but you don't know the status of his finances. You don't know if he has student loans. You don't know if he owns or rents property.

Why do you assume he has a high cost of living? Maybe he lives in a box, or tap dances for nickles at Pier 39 to supplement his income?

You don't know how great he is at tap dancing. He might be one of the best.

I put my esteem in whether I don't smear poop on the backseat of my car when I change my son's diaper during road trips.

my parents doctor is easily making 800k a year or more he owns his own practice full of long term patients and works in a hospital on weekends and he drives a 2003 lexus lol but his son has a sweet GTR. My point is he could care less what car he drives hes likes to show his pride in his house which is amazing.

Totally true..I'm assuming neurologist, ophthalmology, or some other sub speciality?

some people just dont care what they drive. both my parents make well over 200k and one drives an 03 sequoia and the other drives an 01 X5. some people would rather take vacations or have a big house or just spend money whenever they feel like it. they just dont choose to buy nice cars.
