I was at a GT-R meet at a Nagtroc forum member's house near where I live.

So i have to ask as this always bugged me, What do you expect your maintenance costs to be? Brake pad changes, oil , plugs, etc..

Well, the most expensive wear/tear parts to replace are tires and brake pads/rotors. Since I probably won't track my car no more than 3-5 times a year, and since I won't drive the car more than 1k miles a month, I don't foresee having to spend too much on maintenance. My guess is I'll probably spend no more than $5k/year on maintenance assuming I track at least 3 times a year. Basically, maintenance expense with the GT-R is all relative to how you drive the car.

How much is each oil change, pad change, etc?

I plan to go to a tuner shop to get routine maintenance done, so they charge about $150 for oil changes; however, I'm not sure about pads, etc.

There's just something appealing to me about a non-luxury marque (like nissan or chevy) making absolute monster vehicles which can trash ferrari's, lambo's. the problem is in a ZR1, you can actually kill yourself if you don't know how to drive. But in a GT-R, even an idiot driver looks like a star.

congrats man...

I can't wait until I take it to the track in June. The GT-R is meant to be at the track; you just can't open it up or drive it right on local roads.

The guy driving looked like he wasn't older than 25 years old. That car costs $229,000 base MSRP and does a 0-60 in 3.5 secs. GT-R does 0-60 in 2.9 and costs $130,000 less. To add insult to injury, the GT-R weighs 600lbs more and will smoke it all day. LOL!
no disrespect to the GT-R. I love them with some nice bbs lm(s). But at the end of the day I like the Ferrari better. Ferrari are emotional cars that is bought by most to fulfill their chilhood dreams, so it's really not about the money nor the speed.

I wish i could pony up to get a gt-r, but i am a litle short. :-(

You know, I'm a full fledged convert to this car. I really was not the biggest fan of it BEFORE I was given the opportunity to drive one(a 2012 Black Edition) for the whole day. In heavy traffic, on the open road, getting gas; just every possibly situation. I had 3 other people in the car the whole time and it was really just a great experience overall! The car did everything well.

That being said, it was not stock. . .we had just completed a minor round of mods on it - Akrapovic Evolution, COBB tune, HKS filters and AMS catless downpipes.

Congrats!! One of my favorite cars ever. A local shop here has a Switzer R900 I had an opportunity to ride in The acceleration was unbelievable!

Screw all the haters!

Wether you keep it stock or mod the hell out of it, enjoy it!!

I love the performance of the GT-R, but if I were to own one, it would have to be in orange or green.

A guy in my neighborhood has a silver one. It just sort of blends in with the other cars. It needs something to make it a little more unique in the exterior.

And I still can't get over how BIG it looks.

Great car though!

Very impressive!

Those floor mat protector things are just absolutely atrocious though. C'mon man - ditch those.

You made the right choice. GT-R is plain and simple a monster. The look is amazing, the sound is amazing, the performance is straight up crazy amazing.

If I had the money I would be in one myself, but until then, I will just fap to pictures of yours

I'd buy a GT-R as a 3rd or 4th toy, definitely not as my main toy and certainly not over an Italia...

To each their own, but how anyone could rank a Nissan GT-R over a Ferrari 458 Italia (even performance wise) is so beyond my scope of understanding that even if I lived to be 150 years old, I still wouldn't understand.

Yes, the GT-R is faster, but the Italia has something the GT-R doesn't and never will; A SOUL.
