Picked up that Knob Creek Single Barrel, that will put hair on your chest! Damn it's strong stuff. I definitely needed to cut it with ice.

Yes, my favorite way to drink it is over a large chunk of ice in a shot glass, it gets almost syrupy with the cold. Other than that, w/ Bourbon I don't like to add water like with scotch - it really opens up scotch, but often leaves bourbon kind of flat to me.

Went to Binny's today and grabbed a 1.75 of the Woodford Reserve Bourbon, the Plantation Pineapple, and of course, the Plantation 20.
I saw the Clyde May's at Sam's Club, but I was all done shopping booze by then. Next time, maybe.

For last night's Old Fashioned:
Orange peel from backyard tree brown sugar water from the fridge filter, cool blackberries from backyard mint from backyard Basil Hayden shaken, not stirred. The blackberries were particularly good once I got to the bottom of the glass. |

This man speaks truth. I'm on my 3rd bottle of Plantation XO 20 Year Anniversary and it's the best tasting rum I've ever tried. To the point I usually sip a nice Glenmorangie close to daily...I haven't touched Scotch in about 2 months. I'm fighting myself on whether I should buy the Eldorado 21 Year...but at twice the price of the Plantation XO - I'm not sure I want to risk it. Any recommendations for a really nice rum...that would be better than the Plantation XO? |

right now I'm 30,000 feet in the air sipping on a bloody Mary with Tito's - but I'd say my drink of preference is a good bourbon with a big ice cube.
Woodford reserve and Four Roses small batch are amongst my favorite. |

I did. As I said above, I saw it at Sam's Club. In the $32 range if I recall correctly. But I had already picked up a ton of stuff at Binny's, so I figured I'd wait until next time to grab it.

I missed National Bourbon Day, which was yesterday (June 14), but I'm celebrating it tonight with Woodford Reserve.

I truthfully didn't think the other rums can be much better...marginally at best. |

Back to the Plantation Pineapple rum tonight. Wifey cut up a fresh pineapple today, so I speared a few cubes with a toothpick and used them as a garnish in my drink. They were pretty tasting after soaking a bit.
