Keep it on your person. It is more secure that way and if you need to get out of the car quickly, you'll already have your gun.

Magnetic holders, laps, door pockets, etc. won't keep your gun secure if you are in an accident, even a low speed accident. The FBI in the famous Miami shoot-out learned that lesson the hard way.
I train to draw from my door pocket in my POV; obviously at work I'm carrying in my duty holster and train to draw in that scenario as well. I run shooting drills out of my patrol vehicle and my POV's (...unlike a layman). I carry appendix off duty. It isn't as easy to access my gun while seated in a vehicle from an appendix carry position. I do agree, however, that in the event of an accident it would suck. It would suck with it jammed into my pelvis too though.

We have S&W M&P 2.0's. Off duty I carry either an S&W M&P Shield 2.0 (...8+1), an S&W M&P Compact 2.0 (...17+1) or a Sig Sauer P365 (..15+1).

You don’t find the shield cheap as shit? Do you have an upgraded magazine? Mine jams and gets stuck every time I load it. Piece of crap cheap plastic. The single stack feels too thin in my grasp.

I think I’d feel better knowing our law enforcement carried FNX 45. Now I know I’m being protected by the firearm I like the least

Another reason I’m glad to live in a stand your ground state.

I do not carry the Shield on duty. I carry a full size M&P 2.0.

The Shield, for me (...and everybody else I know who has one), has run flawlessly......especially the 2.0. I had a Gen 1 and it ran well too. Sig, known for their quality, even has issues at times (..e.g. trigger sear and striker issues on the P365). There will be QC issues occasionally, but overall S&W and Sig make fantastic guns. The main reason I moved to the Sig was for capacity. I can carry double the Shield capacity in the same tiny package. I'm sorry you have issues with yours.

My department - probably like most departments - tests guns by putting them through extremes, shootings thousands of rounds and NEVER cleaning them. Basically we subject them to the kind of conditions that they would likely never see as a duty weapon. The S&W, Sig, Glock and Staccato guns functioned extremely well.......dirty as fuck and beat to shit.

I'll pass on the FNX and 45 as a duty round. FN is decent, but there's a reason why almost nobody uses them for duty use. I actually don't know one department that uses FN; maybe some really small, relatively unknown agency.

Good job. Not many people actually ever shoot from a car.

There is a fix for carrying AIWB in a car. Tuck the lap belt behind the butt of the pistol and under your shirt or cover garment. Helps prevent injury in a crash and also makes it easier to draw your gun.

Ha. Maryland is south of that line and is a duty to retreat state, yet PA is a stand your ground state. There are quite a few northern states that allow you to stand your ground including as far north as NH on the East Coast.

I'm not going to turn this post political so I'll end on that note.

When I worked for a credit union in Miami, the CEO decided not to have dye packs in fear of the robbers getting so upset that they would storm back into the bank and kill everyone inside. My argument with that is they would want to get out of Dodge ASAP.
Bank robberies are pretty common in large cities and many aren’t even reported in the news. In the majority of cases, the suspect usually passes a note or demand money quietly while claiming that he/she has a gun. In a lot cases, atleast from my experience, they don’t even cover their faces. The robberies that get reported are usually shootouts or ones where the feds can give the suspect an eye catching name such as the “grandma bandit.”

Couple of questions.
If 2 cars are racing/ speeding which car gets pulled over ? When that happen to me couple years ago I was the car in front and the officer pulled over the car behind me luckily.

Also what's the best way to get out of a speeding ticket ? Just be nice and apologize and ask for a break ?

There's no real answer to your first question. Sometimes we go after the car ahead and sometimes we settle for the car that's easier to catch. Sometimes we'll bypass the car that actually stopped/slowed down and chase the rabbit up front. It's much more fun to be in a pursuit. .......well, sometimes. Pursuits are dangerous as hell and almost never end well.

As for your second question, yes, simply acknowledge you were speeding and ask for leniency. You have a 50/50 chance of driving away with a warning. I warn more than half of the time. I want pedophiles, traffickers, gangsters, guns and dope......and drunk drivers. Speeders, people who run stop signs, etc. aren't my priority most of the time.
