Wait a minute.... something doesn't sound right about this. You've owned at least 1 BMW before, right? Assuming so, you should be numb to water pump failures and cooling system refreshes as routine maintenance! (add VCG and OFHG if you're a N54/55 vet)

There's an opening in the middle of the switch and it's knurled....so I had to resist the urge to pull it out like a rip cord.

Because retired IT geek wants to go down the Home Assistant rabbit hole.
As a retired IT geek who has already been down this rabbit hole and is tired of DIY maintenance on a gazillion IoT platforms at home, I probably would have gone with the pre-installed $99 Home Assistant Green system.

FWIW, my Home Assistant server has running as a VM on my Synology Plus-series NAS since COVID lockdown with no hiccups.

Speaking of spending too much time being a home IT geek the last few days recovering from my blown Unifi Security Gateway, I just ordered this Trendnet beast of a PoE++ injector when the new gateway that I posted about above highlighted that my power demand was exceeding the PoE+ maximum on one port:

Honestly haven't owned that many BMWs and haven't had them that long. First one was a 2007 BMW 335i which I bought new and it spent more time at the dealer than in my garage. Fortunately under warranty, but I was quite happy when it was totaled.

My girlfriend had a similar timeframe 128i which I actually liked a lot more than my 335i but also didn't have that more than a couple years. Then I got my 2006 Z4MR which I loved and I did keep that one for a record for me of like 5 years. Only issues I ever had with that one was alternator towards the end and just some leaking power steering lines or something like that. Other than that it was pretty solid.

Had some very short stints with a F10 550i and an F30 335 but all under 2 years and none of them were up to 80k miles. The Z4MR was closest at around 70kish.

Also I guess as I've increased the number of cars I have less patience to deal with issues and bs.

Or the plastic radiator neck on the 2001 E38. Broke every 70k miles like clockwork.

I got this Seat Gap Organizer for my wife so she has a place to put her phone while in my car. There is a slot on both ends for charging cables and it fits my wallet too.

Hmmmm... Interested. Details and store?
I'm kinda OCD with clutter in my cars. But this is minimalist and seems useful.

I got it on :amazon
https://amzn.to/41nobi1

Looks like they ran out of the “carbon fiber” look, but they still have the “leather” versions.

Express arrival that should keep me busy for a while. And of course I had to have that one watch that was different... Ordered.

Needed a more consistent coffee grinder for my morning activities...

Also, the wife booted me (and my equipment) out of the kitchen, so I needed to make a coffee stand for my stuff. While the wine cabinet isn't new, the butcher block converting it to my need is.

Of course - my latte art, as I need a backup plan for when I'm canned.

As do I, every morning. Twice.

And with the price of Starbucks, pays itself off in 5 drinks...

Made 3 this morning to keep up with my early meetings.

Someone seriously needs to invent a scratch and sniff for forums. Imagine how good that would be for the BBQ thread.

We have the same glassware. Haven't touched it in over 2 years, though.

Somehow I suspect porn would be the primary use of that feature.
