Bought these in Detroit last night. Again though, alluded by this illusive Plantation 20 XO.
None of these can be obtained easily in PA....well, Pittsburgh

I use these maraschino cherries. Jar like this typically runs $15 to $20. DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE. They stay out on the counter...

That Bruichladdie is one of my favorites (slight preference for the heavily peated version, but the unpeated is also wonderful). You might try looking online for the PA liquor board pages - they have a whole section of special order only that has some very nice stuff that you can order and pick up at your local store. I'm at work so I can't pull the site info past big brother's firewall to check- I'd hope they stock these. I've been starting to browse it myself, planning a trip down near the PA border later in the summer (I routinely swing into VT for the brands that they sell below NYS cost - sometimes more than $10/bottle savings).

from reference on the Bruichladdie, I've been a vodka guy my whole life. And you bums on this site got me started in full blown alcoholism and drinking scotch. I'm not sure I'm ready for a heavy peated version yet...as I'm told it's similar to dirt and only enjoyed by the true connoisseurs (which I clearly am not). BTW - If you're coming to PA to buy any sort of liquor, I think you're nuts. What others typically get for $40 - i'm typically paying close to $60. Just trying to help...

Enjoying the Clyde Mays tonight. Straight up with a splash of seltzer. I think you found another winner here, TXSTYLE.
Very tasty. Might just be me, but I almost detect a slight nutty finish. Or maybe it's just oak. Either way, good stuff.

Nice man! Told ya. I'm not even a whiskey guy but I am a "great spirits" guy. And this is a great drink! If it's available look for Collingwood Whiskey. The black label.

Collingwood is meh in my view. I feel like the first sip is smooth and nice, which makes me wonder if its possible to put a premium whiskey right at the top and have it stay there...interesting...wonder if that would stay at the top.
The rest, not as refined. I have to make another trip to the LCBO...need a cheaper sipping scotch than what I currently have at $80/bottle. |

You might want to check OH prices too, if you are in Pittsburgh. I don't get back to CLE much, but some stuff is reasonable or cheaper than NY. Each state is different, so you can find bargains on some brands. PA is a bit higher, but they also list stuff that is hard to get here in NY. |

This. I was hung up on The Balvenie Caribbean Cask and Aberlour A'bunadh, both of which are outstanding. But it was getting pricey to maintain that habit. I've found that Gentleman Jack, Woodford Reserve, and now Clyde Mays are very close and cost about half as much. I realize you're going from Scotch to Bourbon, but unless you're really stuck on Scotch, the flavor is just as enjoyable.
