Shame about that face... But damn this thing is pumping 35psi through a 2.9 v6, it should feel like a modded up b5 s4...which is to say fast with on/off power delivery.

It looks weird. Looks play a big part for me, C63s sedan is another one, though that one looks great but in a docile generic way, no aggression. This one just looks weird, those headlights...ewww

This could be a rare alfa in the future.... I doubt there will be as man out there as there are e90 M3s.

Any one know how many they are going to produce?

I have liked Alpha since their sexy black cars used in the previous James bond movie, first chase scene!
This looks like an upgrade over those!
I love the front grill/headlight designs.
They also have some pretty neat hatches, it was just power that was lacking and now we got it!

The new Mustang GT350 isalready likley to kill the m3 on the track. at a cheaper price the starting price is 45k while the m3 is 62k.

So far Alfa seems out of touch with their offerings.

4C not being available in a manual for the NA market is a big failure, the car had a lot of potential.

It sounds like they will miss the mark price wise with their M3 competitor, they are going to have to establish themselves in the market before they can start charging the premium they want to charge.

Whats not to love if you like the e90 and f80 M3? It's like the M3's italian cousin.

That long hoof, greenhouse, kink and short trunk all look like an f80 was sculpted out of ice, and let to melt for a little bit.

M3 killer or not, it will have a lot to prove to win over the already tough and competitive market. Also aftermarket support would play a big role for many car enthusiasts. Personally, I bought the M3 knowing it is not the fastest car on the road or on the track, but the characteristics and the aftermarket support just appeal to me.

The US web page shows a stick

Car looks great, competition is a good thing. This car has some of the soul that the ATS-V is missing that I was hoping for.

Alfa's failed in the U.S. market twice already. Not once, but twice. And the third time, so far, is not so charmed with the hardcore CF tub o' sexiness that is the 4C. It's only good as a weekend backroads car; it has absolutely no practicality beyond that.

For this, and Alfa in general (despite the substantial backing), to have a snowball's chance in a northern Tuscan summer in the U.S., it will need to be priced far more competitively and tick more boxes for a larger target demographic than just the performance ones. The cars have a history of being highly temperamental -- even the econo-hatches that compete with VW Golfs and Ford Focuses and Peugeot 208/308s and Renault Meganes in Europe. As much as it would like to be, Alfa is not the Italian Jaguar.

(Also: IMHO, this is the least attractive Alfa since the king of unattractive Alfas: the Milano, which was actually a re-skinned Saab 9000.)

I am with that camp that says this car will have serious difficulty selling... the brand name just isn't there in this country... the reliability will prob not be too great and its higher priced than its competitors... how in the hell do they think that they can have success with that strategy?

Yeah I have been thinking the same... it will be a great car to drive, but to own.. it may not be worth the price of admission. But this applies to many cars.. Time will tell..

But if the lease is competitive like a M car, I might leave the family for a short time until the GXX M is out.

First car that came to my mind when I thought about this... the Ghibili resale value is like reselling a used Toshiba PC or tires after a drift course... to be fair though, the Ghibili as a whole car is an utter piece of shit, this can at least perform and wasnt built from chrysler parts.

I was about to post the same thing. The M3 is pretty disappointing from a price vs what you get perspective.
