Rest assured the next time that dude goes to that dealership he will be getting a 320 or 228 loaner, if they even still allow him to get a loaner next time.

I have a 320i loaner right now...

It's a nice one with brand new super sports on it and 10k miles

It has the Track package which includes m sport steering wheel, 225/255 18"Michelin supersports tires, bigger brakes, m sport steering wheel, adaptive suspension

: I hate to say it, but to me this is about as good or better than the dealerships 135/535d loaner.

I literally can't believe these Michelin super sport are still 90% tread...

That's because, much as the posters on here will hate to admit it, it's about as close to the iconic original BMW sport sedan you can get...that reduced engine power means the car and you have to work a lot harder...that's fun

End of the day, it gets you from point A to point B. I may be too humble but I'm thankful for what I have every damn day on this mud bowl called Earth. Growing up with a 528e, a 320i is leaps and bounds above that car

Having said that, I'm surprised the guy was given a 640 considering it's above the price bracket of his 4 series/E9X M3. Here in Dubai they don't normally give "loaner" cars and even if they do it's usually a rental or at least something that's on the same level as the owner's car if not cheaper.
An ex-girlfriend of mine's father told me once to always return something in a better state than it was loaned to you. I've actually washed loaners and rental cars before that got excessively dirty.

Maybe he was talking about his daughter, given she's now "ex" and all.

But yeah, that's a great rule, leave it at least as good as you got it. Not sure I'd go through a trouble of washing them, but for sure I always treat both, loaners and rentals as well as I would my own car or slightly better.

I never abuse someone else's property but when it cost me money I'm also not going to improve it from normal wear. They call them "loaners" but you are certainly paying for it when labor rates are $150+ an hour.

If everyone followed this rule the world would be a better place.

Just buy the Dinan Sport or a JB+ and bring it with you to the dealership.

Drive the car one block, pop hood, clip in module, close hood and then floor it. Problem solved.

Recently had a 320i with 500 miles on it as a loaner..it had no packages at all...the seats were awful, felt like I was riding a go kart. This week they gave me a 428 with 1k miles with the sports package....the seats were rock hard but it was a better ride than the 320i....not much better but still better.

I don't beat loaners as I would not want anybody abusing my car.
