It's not only Shell who has top tier gas lol.

This is the truth. Not sure that there is any difference between top tier gas blends as far as performance in our BMWs.

IMO top tier gas is more about better cleaning and like being a certain level of quality.

But as a plus here Shell 91 has no Octane so that's why I mainly switched to shell. Also when I put gas the nozzle won't stop prematurely like it did at Petro Canada.

What do you mean by "big difference"

Honestly, I have never noticed a difference between any brand of gas I have used. Gas is gas.
My car isn't nearly as responsive on other fuel types. I drive it pretty hard - jb+ turned up all the way - soon to be stage 2 - if this group buy ever goes through 😂. Anytime I ever get gas anywhere else I wonder why my car is driving like shit.

The reason it's not in my head is that I don't notice the car performing poorly until after it is performing poorly - I only go to shell - and didn't know it had anything to do with BMW recommending shell until now.

The northern side of the Minneapolis / Saint Paul metro area has Shell gas the identical price of the BP station which is just a few cents more than the no-name stuff around. Interesting that in some parts of the country they are so much more expensive. Not here!

I wish I were joking. But totally serious. I have all kinds of acceleration lag when I use other gas stations. Shell is about 1.5 miles from my house luckily. Keep in mind - I'm driving a measly 320i xdrive - catless, jb+ turned up max, it's not a very fast car (hoping stage 2 changes that) so it's very noticeable when it under performs.

Nothing it's just what's the point in running the 94?

I run MHD on my 335is and there is a stage for 94 but I get like what 10 hp more? And it cost more than 91.

You guys are lucky. I can only get 92 and it has 10% ethanol.

If im not mistaken there's no ethanol in it, its like next to nothing more per fill, its at every station near me so might as well take advantage of it, and i find the car runs generally better (probably coincidence but most times i used other brands 91 i got misfires)

All the Petro Can fuels have Ethanol.

I switched to Shell 91 because it doesn't have Ethanol.

On my first tank of Costco 92, and I'm pretty sure any performance issues I'm noticing are me learning the car better, not the switch from Chevron 92. Certainly that one tank of Shell 92 Nitro Power made no discernable difference except in my wallet... maybe if the Shell station had been easier to get in & out of I'd keep trying them, but they're down low on the water table too, which I always try to avoid.
