i cant see any reason yet not to see the same race next week as well.. probably Perez d be faster and we can see double from Red Bulls next week..

Max stopped right before crossing the finish line to say hi to his team. I was hoping he would do donuts and cross the line, in style.

Never mind Bottas. When VER lead over HAM was at 9 seconds, HAM said he couldn't close the gap. That was the race right there. The Pace of the W12, at least on this track, isn't there with the RB16B so there was nothing Mercedes could do - if this race went on for another 70 laps, VER would have just increased his lead - Red Bull's performance was just that much better and we're not even talking about PER closing the gap between Bottas.

Lewis hasn't won since early May. Remarkable to see him still within a single VER error of taking back the championship lead.

What a season this has been so far. So unexpected.

Checo deserved P3 today. Perfect compliment to VER. Credit to RB for cycling drivers until they found a fit.

RUS could have been in the points. Nearly racy with ALO for P7 (I think) at one stage. Give that kid a proper drive NOW.

I get what you're saying, but he was 30+ sec ahead of Ham. It's one thing if he stopped, got out, set up a table by the wall and sipped on a espresso with his team before getting back into his car to cross. I didn't think it was that bad. And i don't remember him ever doing anything like this.

Racecars sometimes do funny things at slow speeds, including after running almost flat for 2 hrs. Power's car wouldn't restart after a red flag in Detroit two weeks ago, Newgarden's gearbox failed with 2 laps to go on a restart last weekend.

Perfect race, leading HAM in the championship, just cross the line then shenanigans. VER probably has enough momentum there to still cross the line with a full PER style shutdown, but.....

And in a year that has been characterized as a year with minimal rule changes compared to other years and chassis have been carried over and evolved instead of newly developped due to COVID that might just be the case...

The real test comes next year when the budget restraints come into effect. Hopefully the gap between RB/MERC and the rest gets a bit smaller then

You're right about that. I know some Indy cars do that. I believe something as you described happened during Indy 500 as well.
