I watched my first SpaceX launch yesterday. Just so much thrust to get into Earth orbit, and around 17,000km/h. They loaded a million lbs. of LOX into the first stage at launch

We are all just a near infinite tiny blip in space and time. But at least we can claim a lifetime of existence on the face of a planet in The Big Void. Cogito, ergo sum (and for mankind existence reasons also coito, ergo sum applies).

UY Scuti BD-12°5055,
the biggest star in the universe (that we know of), UY Scuti is a variable hypergiant with a radius around 1,700 times larger than the radius of the sun. To put that in perspective, the volume of almost 5 billion suns could fit inside a sphere the size of UY Scuti. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UY_Scuti |

Well from my days as a professor, Wikipedia is not considered a reliable source…
Space.com says the same as LJ. https://www.space.com/41290-biggest-star.html I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it eventually! ![]()

If Andromeda was brighter, this is how big it would appear in the Night Sky. Reminder this Is heading towards us at a speed of 300km a second. But since it is located 2.5 million light-years away, it might take a while.

Absolutely. It's identical to all religions; it mixes truth and lies so seamlessly that the reader believes the entirety to be truth, when in fact it's not even nearly that. It's how they are both sold.
