Hey Gang:

I found this site shortly after being knocked out by the 1 Series photos and cover story in Autoweek. I actually like the red-orange color that's been in most of the photos and was intrigued by the article I saw that indicated that the 1 platform could be used as a basis for a "new" 2002 tii styled model.

I have friends and family members who own the current 3 series and clearly its a wonderful, supremely capable automobile.

But it seems to me that the 3 is getting too big, too complex and less "tossable." In short, too much like my '99 A4 which, while not big is too porky. Obviously the BMW has big horsepower while the A4 has only 190.

In any event, my question is does anybody have a sense of whether the 128 has any more of a lighter, nimble feel than the 135? I love power as much as the next guy but might prefer a simpler, less nose heavy 128.

Thanks to all of you who make this such an informative and welcoming site.

Hi all,

Just joined the board. Currently have an E39 M5, use to have an E46 M3. I really liked the way the 1 series looks and will probably get one in a couple of years, i'm not into buying first year models. But I think this is going to be a great car and should be fun on the track, more so than my M5, which is great on the street, but a little too heavy for the track.

What up everyone!!! I'm Kenny from Carol Stream, IL. 21 years old and i'll be 22 when the 135i comes out. I sold my 500whp SRT-4 for a crotch rocket (R6) and now I am selling that and already starting to save up for the 135i . So... by the time I see it at the Chicago Auto Show i'll have a solid hefty $13k-15k downpayment! w00t!!! I'm looking forward to getting it!!! Vishnu PROceed and cat-back exhaust is all I need!!!

Greetings - Thanks for Providing a Great Site

Good day everyone. Great site and I'm very encouraged to see other car nuts such as myself that are interested in the 1 series. I'm a current BMW M3 owner thats very intrigued by the new 1 series, (specifically the 135i). The local dealer indicated that four people have already ordered their 135i's sight unseen but I'm looking to test drive one from the dealer when they arrive in March/April 2008 before committing. I have a feeling that it will meet expectations.

I think everyone can guess my name! I just sold my 2005 450whp EVO VIII to pay off my credit card debt and save for a new car. I think the 135i is EXACTLY what I am looking for thus far. I will be anxious to drive one and see if it is the real deal as it does seem so! I think a black on black 135I with a Procede and a tasteful catback would be very nice!

Will be keeping my E46 as the DD and getting a 135 in Alpine White to just well... to me they are soo good looking. It combines the E90 lines with the E46 lines and it makes pure sex.

I'm coming from an S2K and WRX Wagon.

Sick of the wagon but need more room that the S.

2-door coupe, 300HP, RWD, 50/50 weight distribution...Seems like the perfect replacement

I'll be ordering a 135i in Apline White with red interior as soon as the official pricing is released.

Can't wait till spring!!

Hello all. I currently drive a 2001 540 and plan to get into a new 135i sometime later next year.

I'm really looking forward to driving this new BMW. I want one with no options; as light and simple as possible. I'd really be happy if I could get that Red/Black cloth interior someone posted pictures of to go with my artic white color choice!

Thanks to everyone whose been feeding my addiction by posting info and pics, especially the photoshops of different colors.

Thumbs up Introduction

Hi guys, new member here from NJ. First time i heard about the new 1 series was a couple of weeks ago. I fell in love with it right away, it just looks so nice, and I'm sure it will be one of the hottest cars around when it finally comes out. For now, like most of you I'm waiting for the prices to be announced. So, good luck to all of you guys with getting the car you all want.

Howdy, Howdy...

Misplaced Oklahoman here in Memphrica. I mean, Memphis...

Currently driving a CPO'd 1-Owner Loaded 2003 Imola Red 330i ZHP 6-speed. Loaded as in leather, navi, hid's, high performance package (ZHP), etc, etc, etc...

Love the car, but it has the dreaded (and currently no resolution to it) ZHP intake rattle. Its very quiet and I'm just going to live with it until the car is traded in next year, very possibly on an A/W 135i, loaded...

I frequent www.memphisracingscene.com and have competed in quite a few local SCCA events. Not too many lately, but thats due to a conflicting work schedule...

Hello. The 135i looks good to this long-time auto enthusiast.

Among the cars I’ve owned: MG TD, Austin Healeys 4- and 6-cylinder, Mini-Cooper 1275 S, 2002, 2002-Tii, Taurus SHO, E-30, E-36, Porsche 996. My wife, a strict utilitarian, drives a manual 5-speed Forester. My current utility car is an ’04 Audi S4 Avant (V8), my drive for pure fun an ’05 Mini-Cooper S. Of all these, the Minis have been in many ways the most entertaining, but my four Bimmers have been my favorite all-rounders.

The 135i I looks like a “Q” ship with performance in the class of the Cayman S at only a little over half the tariff. (I’m guessing a 135 as I’d like it at maybe 38K vs. a Cayman S at around 65K, more than I now think reasonable for a toy. The 911 was a once-in-lifetime extravagance.) Not caring for the torque steer I’ve found in the second-generation MCS, like several others I’m thinking of the 135i as a successor to the R53.

1addicts.com certainly looks like the best way to keep up to date. Thanks to the organizers and contributors.
