It might be a 22,000 vph movement, but I don't know that too many are used in cronographs.

I also don't know too many people that actually use their chronos, so the acuracy is just a luxury .

It is also believed that higher vph watch movements tend to be more fragile, so if you have an active life, this may be something to take into consideration.

I was checking out a cool vintage Omega, a late 1960's pre-moon Speedmaster. Very cool watch.

I keep looking at vintages too. There's some fantastic watches. The problem to consider though is, the vintages can sometime be ridiculously small. If you have a bigger wrist, they can be off putting. If on the other hand you don't have big wrists, a vintage could be the thing of dreams for you!

And those pre-moon Speedmaster pull a lot of respect in the watch world.

I love my modern Speedmaster Pro, so I'd definitely recommend the vintage if your really considering it

^ lol

Not wearing a watch anymore, I have like 3 different ways to tell time.

I did just buy a "survival strap" and really like it.

Anyone use a watch winder? I just got a winder that holds only two watches. It takes batteries and also plugs in. It's virtually silent. Pretty good so far. Three settings: Counterclockwise, clockwise and normal wrist action (L&R).

I've got 2 winders that hold 4 watches each I don't have 8 automatics, but I use 2 spots as display spots until I end up with automatics to put in there. They were cheapies, but they do the job, and like yours they have clockwise, counter clockwise, alternating, and extended alternating.

I'm happy to put my manual wind watches in there as well as it keeps the oils from settling to one side if I turn it on occasionally for them.

well, there's at least 1 for sure on the way, maybe another soon. But I do plan to sell 2 as well. Start moving the collection more upscale.

pretty much all places have the ability to make the same deals. You just have to know how to work the people.

Expect at least 15% off, and if they aren't willing to do that, come back another day and try again. The more the see you, the more serious they will take you and be willing to work a price. Also, it helps to build a relationship with specific people.

If you know a lot about the specific product and how old it is/how long it's been in the store, you know how much they can move the price. If things have been in for more then a year, expect up to about 30% (that's the extreme side) and 30% is really doable for them because they got the product in before all the price hikes, so they have room to move still.

As a general rule, I expect to be able to get about 20% unless it's extremely limited production or a special (which is really the same thing) If it's brand new to the store, don't expect to get more then 10-15% and if they will only give you 10, they are being stingy.

Know your product, know what you can get it for online before you talk to anyone. A real sales agent will be 2-300 more then the lowest prices you see on the internet because they aren't selling grey market products, all their stuff will have warranty and such, and that's what you pay the extra 2-300 for. If you're not worried about the papers/warranty, then grab the cheapest thing you can find on the internet and don't look back because you're getting a hell of a deal.

Otherwise, go on forums like Watchuseek and check out the vendors in there, they tend to do the deal range I was talking about, and some ship for free.

best of luck!

I've been considering many watches as I save money for my next one. Most have largish dials, or are rectangle (Reverso), but today I saw a very nice 1950"s vintage Gubelin ademars Piguet, in yellow gold, more of a dress style watch, but oh so very nice. It had a nice petina as well.

Very similar to this watch, but the seconds hand is midway down at the 6:00 position.

the pricing for such a vintage piece by AP doesn't seem too bad. And I believe every collection should have a dressy piece

There's so many nice watches out there, it's hard to choose.

That seamaster is a classic, enjoy it, abuse it and it will become more handsome every day. Seamasters age like a fine wine.
