How was it when you first gave it up? Was it a decision you solely made or did anyone pressure you? Did you have help?

My older sister is almost 32 and has been smoking since she was 18 or 19. Now she wants kids and is having trouble getting pregnant. (I think its her years of smoking that harmed her eggs and not to mention her husband smokes everyday as well and you men know how harmful that is to your swimmers) Yet she wont quit. I told her for years if she dies of lung cancer or anything related to smoking, that I will not show up at her funeral.

I just want her to be healthy

She recently got pissed off at me because I wouldnt let her hold my daughter. She smelled like a fresh cigarette!

When I first gave up (for real attempt), it really wasn't that bad. I didn't binge eat or get nasty or anything, I just missed smoking lol. I decided to do it on my own, because when you sit down and calculate $11.25 a day for cigarettes month to month, it changes your perspective on things.

My SO at the time pressured me, but she just made it worse. Sometimes I would slip and have a smoke, and then I'd get berated for trying to hide it because I was ashamed of caving in. In the end I did it on my own with no help of quitting items or people. Which is funny because smokes are about $4 cheaper per pack here in NC compared to MI.

She has to want to quit if she's going to be able to. Even with people around it's easy to say no, it's all about mental strength and how you deal with addiction as an individual.

Hopefully she will make the decision sooner than later. Don't get me wrong, I love a social smoke here and there, but I wouldn't take the time out of my day to go buy a pack.

I am the same way with chewing. I started when I was 14 or 15 (played baseball). I quit a few years back, but will still occasionally dip. Hell sometimes I even buy a pouch of redman, only to get 2-3 chews out of it, then throw it away.

Didn't have trouble quitting, and don't really get urges to do it. I just enjoy it.

My son is the most stubborn thing in the world. Last week he hit his head and needed stitches because "mum I was not playing in the stairs, they attacked me".

Now he made a surf board out of cardboard box and is sliding down the same bloody stairs.

I already got the insurance info in the car, I bet I have use for it soon. I told him to stop, since its not safe, but my tiny engineer informed me he has this thing figured out. I'm just hoping he would learn faster than he did last spring when he decided he wan walk on water.

Eh, I think it's more HOW the cursing is done. Cursing in general doesn't seem to be a problem, but I've seen plenty of people banned for cussing directly at someone. It's probably only a temp ban tho...
