Yeah I like the Z06 and was even semi-siding with him earlier on in this thread. but cringey is a very good way to put it.

WHat? There are zero under MSRP deals & the MSRP lists are full for YEARS into the future. Enough with posting bad info

Glad to see General Motors making an effort to stop resellers from driving up costs and making obscene profits from their "chosen one" allocations.

This market has really gone bonkers and as is usually the case, we can only blame ourselves.

Don't worry, it won't last long with 7% interest rates.

Specifically referring to Warranty cancellations on people/dealers who try to resell within 12 months of original sale.

I personally know someone who bought a non-Z06 (in New York state) and immediately flipped it to Texas for a quick $25k profit. This was way back at the beginning of the pandemic before anyone know what was happening. Seems that GM caught on and is attempting to stop such behavior of rare models (Z06, Hummer EV and Escalade V-Series).

LOL they are not doing anything anywhere. Dealers are still doing ADM. So why is that ok but someone who paid for the car cannot make a buck if someone will pay?

Yet they are ok with dealers doing ADM. Double standard joke.

People paying over MSRP to "flippers" for a car don't care about a warranty anyway

They changed it to 6 months but I just meant that the flipping market won't exist for long with 7% interest rates. MSRP incoming once production ramps up, give it a few months. Lots of people are going to cancel their orders. Suddenly a $140-180k car purchase makes a lot less sense when the rest of the car market is drastically falling and interest rates keep rising. 458 and GT3 prices are down ~10-15% versus a few months ago, meanwhile Z06 prices haven't changed.

100%

However, I don't think any of us want to see a full blown recession

0-60 in 2.6 seconds is very impressive for a rear wheel drive car. The Z06 easily walks the gt3 in a straight line but would be very interesting to see how they fare on a lap

I suspect the Corvette will do mighty well and again, at it's MSRP I doubt there is another car in the world that will best it .........

people really underestimate how much of an advantage the cup2R gives over the standard cup2 on launch. between a 510hp GT3 and a 670hp Z06 the trap speed diff is only 2mph.

but can't fault GM for that. they chose a qualifying tire for max lap times, rather than something that can handle a wet track as well. The cup2r according to michelin is good for about -1.0 second for every mile of track compared to the cup2

Trap speed is usually a direct correlation with respect to HP / weight, so while the Corvette makes more HP it also carries more weight. Also the standard GT3 does not have the downforce of the ZO6, granted this is not an issue at launch but once speeds get into triple digits it becomes a factor.

All these videos so far are showing corvette is once again the bargain of the century.

This will repeat itself when they bring out the hybrid model and again with the other higher performance variants.

Gotta love corvettes!

Nothing new. Vette has been the performance bargain for a long time. If that's what one is after, buy a Vette. If you value the whole pkg, you have to spend more

People have whined like a bitch about GM raising the MSRP to 106k (if you're getting one at MSRP) yet idiots are paying 140k for a CSL.

This z06 is 100x the car the CSL is. And these videos are proving it. That was my point to that post.

Why are we crucifying GM's first supercar with nonsense like weight, looks to boy racer car like yada yada and there are WORSE cars out there. With uglier looks and inferior performance, for more money?

People don't have to like corvettes. But they sure are the BEST value of all time, always and forever. That is why i continue to buy them.

Why are you bringing the CSL into this? apples to oranges. All new cars are overpriced. The exotic market is just even more so.

stop with the super car, it's not.
