You may want to reach out to Gary. I wonder if the guy even knows there are a bunch of folks talking about him behind his back?

All the best.

Gary is my friend!!!! But not that one Lol

Once I took my M3 to the dealer. The guy told me that they will take the car but had no BMWs loaners. I just told him to give me whatever they had on hand. I guess the guy took it too seriously and gave me a Dodge Avenger with 24,000 miles but that thing was so bit up, OMG. I just drove it home and we made a big fun of the car. The car sat for two weeks on the driveway. What happened to me? Nothing. Stupid Gary full of nothing. The guy must inherited the vehicle and probably he doesn't have more cars to drive to church, to buy groceries and to go to the private golf and tennis club. Did someone mention that Gary is my friend? Leave Gary alone!!!! He is a stupid ashole!!!!!

Had the exact same thing happen last time I dropped my 7 off for service. Guy in front of me is throwing a bitch fit for not getting a 5 series loaner for dropping off his 528i. Meanwhile, I skip ahead and my SA welcomes me, we go over the service order, and I walk out to my X3 loaner. Funny thing is, I was in/out before the guy even finished his tantrum. I guess he refused the cars they offered him, because I saw him again when I returned my loaner and picked up the 7 again. If anything these short stints in loaners make you appreciate the options and trim you've selected. First world problems I suppose...

Thumbs down

What a foking douchesack. I'm on my 3rd 7 Series and it is commonly known that these days, dealerships generally do not have 7 loaners. Way back in my e65 @ 7 or 8yrs ago, I occasionally received one of only four 7 Series they had. But my dealer has not had a 7 loaner in years. And they are one of the largest volume dealers in the nation. The smallest car I've ever gotten was a X3. But 90% of the time is a X5 or 5 Series with very few miles on them. So I'm content. This guy needs to come back down to earth...

Ditto. I'm actually in cargo shorts and barefooted right now. Heck, the shorts are optional, but sometimes I need to get up and stretch during long vidconfs.

I bet if he had been more polite the GM or someone else would have lent him their personal car

Funny enough, the rudest fellow BMW owner I've ever met was an old woman who drove a 15 yr old 7 series

Wonder if they guy bought his 7 series used and several years old for the price of the new 320 he was ragging on

I'm kind of late to the party but I just have to say I agree with this. I live in TN but I'm from NY. On rare occasions some injustice will rub me the wrong way and I'll let my inner asshole NY'er come out. It's always been a pleasurable experience and it usually leaves me with a big grin.

I'm surprised the dealer went to such great length to accommodate him at the expense of other customers' time.

As a surgeon I'll get patients like this from time to time. When there is a surgical fix, the goal is always to go to the OR, where I make the majority of my money. However, sometimes the potential postop pain in the ass for me or my staff isn't worth the reimbursement and I'll either tell them that we're not a good match or that they should see someone at the University level.

Unless he was a solid repeat buyer, the GM would have been well justified in taking him aside to make their policy for disruptive behavior clear.

I know this is an old thread, but back in April, I was in line to get a loaner, and a woman cut in front of me who had gotten a loaner that morning, who told the kid at the desk I cannot drive a red car, you can give me any color, just not red. Then, another woman cut in front of me, please, make sure you have thoroughly checked the car and am sure that nobody has ever smoked in it. I let it go--do you really want to get upset in front of everybody incl. the dealership staff, when two innocent ladies well into their 50's or 60's cut in front of you? Not really. If it were some other situation like at a supermarket deli or something else, I would have spoken up. But my suspicion is not the first, but the 2nd, has cut lines all her life....they just sort of snake their way up and before you know it, they physically take advantage of the space you've left between yourself and the next person. All I can compare it to is say at a fast food place you're waiting, and someone just walks up and says I need this or that. hey, if they've already been served maybe that's legit, but I mean that's the method these cheaters seem to use...every now and then the person at the establishment will remind them there is a line..

I was at a dealer in Cincinnati for a wheel warranty claim - all I had to do was drop by for them to scan my key and process the claim. Should have taken five seconds.

So I get there and this is this customer working with my service advisor. Apparently his name is name is Gary and he was dropping off his 7 series for an oil change. I don't even think it was a 2014 or 2015...looked like a couple years old. Well, our friend Gary refused to accept a 3 or a 5 series loaner car despite the fact that most dealers don't have 7 series on hand as loaners. He complained for 45 minutes about how "he would be embarrassed to be seen in a 3 series" and how "if he brought home a 3 series he would need someone from the dealership to hold a billboard hiding it from his neighbors." He didn't even need a loaner car in actuality because, as he made a point of mentioning, "He has plenty of other nice cars to drive."

When service couldn't get him a 7 series, he got the sales side involved and made everyone wait while his regular salesman came over to see what they could do. This all happened while a line of customers, including me, was building up behind him.

The BMW dealer handled the situation amazingly, even going so far as to call a competing local dealer to check if they had a 7 series they could borrow for him, but the guy just didn't care.

This guy was literally the most entitled person I have ever seen. All of us customers in line waiting were driving 3 series, 5 series, etc. And he was just shitting on the cars saying he was embarrassed to even be seen in one. And he didn't understand that the dealership couldn't just give him a brand new unsold 7 series off the showroom floor to drive.

Unreal.

I ran into a guy at Century BMW (Greenville, SC) that looked exactly like that, he was even dressed exactly the same, too.

The guy I ran into was talking the same trash (loudly, he wanted others to hear), about wanting a new 7 series loaner; how he'd never let his neighbors see him in a 5 series.

Gary must get around; if it wasn't for the different counter, I'd swear you took that pic at Century BMW.

I bet Gary is low level new money. Old money knows better than to care what others think. Big money has an alternative readily available. I knew a guy who owned 15 unrestored, low mileage corvettes. His wife collected Disney cells(she showed me a Christie's auction catalog she was going to, and the cells she was looking at started at $75k). This was the kindest, most considerate couple you could ever meet. He would bring steak to our dog every event.
Gary isn't aware that his actions show more about him than his possession.
