The point of the test was to prove that Tesla Cybertruck is heavy. LOL

I love Jason's video on the towing capacity of the Cybertruck as well.

Tesla Model X can only tow 65 miles on a full charge at load capacity. How is the Cybertruck going to pull 14K pounds and be useful on a 500 miles camping trip?

Prediction - the cybertruck never makes it to production due to it failing to meet crash standards.

All owners will just carry a tow rope and tie themselves up to the back of a class 8 truck and stay connected until they've fully re-gened the battery.

That's what hybrid cars do.

Are you aware that every other car Tesla makes is safest in class, and by a wide margin?

I think that post is hinting at the "exoskeleton" design of the truck not being able to meet crash safety standards compared to modern cars with "crumple zones" that are intended to absorb energy from an impact. While the exoskeleton is incredibly strong, I believe the issue is that it will transfer the energy of an impact to the occupants inside instead of absorb it.

Plus, pedestrians have to be taking into account. Not sure how a stainless steel vehicle with sharp corners will pass.

Yes exactly. Also how would it fair in a collision with another cybertruck?

The only difference would be that in a normal Tesla crash only one battery catches on fire for hours, then again in a week's time when it is at the tow yard. With two of them crashing together you'll have twice as many batteries on fire.

Elon musk originally designed this for SpaceX use on the moon. It was supposed to be a lunar vehicle. Hence the design.

Not baseless at all. It's based off of Musk's own speech during the reveal.

Google "Rivian Tank Turn".

Cybertruck Spied with More Production-Ready Design Features

Tesla Cybertruck with Updated Design Spotted on Test Track

Here is a real find - a Tesla Cybertruck prototype spotted at the Tesla Factory's test track in Fremont, California.

The vehicle, shown in a flyover video shared by Chile Al100, appears to be more production-bound than the initial version, unveiled in 2019, which indicates some redesign/refinement work is still happening.

We will not lie that it looks quite intriguing, futuristic, and attractive in the video, but of course the most important part will be the vehicle's perception in person.

What appears to be new in the prototype is the huge single-blade windshield wiper. There are also multiple blue marks that indicate some changes, we guess.

It's definitely the best video of the Tesla Cybertruck so far, as we can see (especially from about 2:20) the vehicle driving around the track multiple times.

It's expected that we will know more about the electric pickup from Tesla by the way of the Q4 2021 financial report.

One of the latest bits of news is that the top-of-the-line version will have four electric motors (one per wheel), instead of a maximum of three, as previously planned.

The production of the Tesla Cybertruck probably will take place at the Tesla Giga Austin plant in Texas, but most likely no earlier than a year from now.

Another thing is that this new EV from Tesla will get the new Tesla's 4680-type cylindrical cells right from the start, which means that the manufacturer will need a lot of them to provide long-range of up to 500+ miles (for example, 100,000 units times 200 kWh would be 20 GWh).

Below we attached the initial specs of the Tesla Cybertruck, but it might be different in the production version, especially since it's not listed on the manufacturer's website anymore.

Tesla Cybertruck specs:
Range
  • Single Motor RWD: 250+ miles (402+ km)
