It was a complete coincidence as the numbers were assigned at the track for that one.

Max wasn't even in F1 at that point!!

What we do know is the cars won't get faster than they were last year according to expert Brundle and with 'catch up' likely RB will be closer than ever to Merc with extra 40hp to counter their 'magic mode'.
Look, the others simply can't make such a bigger stride than Merc or RB so unlikely to trouble the top two much so your assumption of Max finishing around 4th is just unfathomable.

I'd say this is incorrect.

McLaren: One of the top 3 chassis now mated with the best PU and probably the best in-season development record, historically.

Fezza: You never know what they will come up with especially with being humiliated over the PU issue in 2019.

Force India, er, Racing Point, ummm, tRacing Point, dammit Aston Martin: They have punched above their weight for quite a while and now have funding, leadership, a hopefully resurgent VET, and a billionaire with an NO BS attitude in ultimate leadership. They are to be feared.

RBR is, potentially, in quite a bit of trouble. Lastly, Mercedes AMG F1 has been developing the car since the before the summer break.

Lastly, Sir Lewis is in the seat. That is a better prospect than Max in the lead seat.

McLaren have been given special permission to make chassis changes to make the Merc lump fit but will be closely monitored that it won't use any performance advantage ''benefit'' in such a way more than it should from that fit, hope you understand that.
The others were simply too-far-behind to make such a giant step now, come on you're just speculating there and of course you will always beef cake up Merc no?

But I understand completely that your S85B50 and your BMW emblem was dancing at Cota !

My S65B40 danced also several times at Francorchamps...
But also around Francorchamps pulling 8K-rpm's through the forests is awesome .

• Lewis Hamilton

After this season HAM is done at Mercedes (90 % chance) His discussion was pretty bad with Daimler regarding his extreme contract demands .
HAM has put Daimler with their neck and back against the wall , because HAM knew that Mercedes-Daimler wants that 8th WDC and World constructors title absolutely !
That's why he got a one year contract and NOT his requested 3 year contract ..
#nolongerfriends !

• Max Verstappen

MAX has an escape clause in his RB contract , from the moment when the RB16-B isn't competitive enough to fight for the title ...
MAX can walk whenever he wants it !
I know already from last week and from today again that MAX is the #1 as for HAM's replacement at Mercedes in 2022 !!!

• Confirmed by Christian Horner and Toto Wolff .

So my friend , probably by this we can't fight anymore in 2022 !

That was always in the back of my mind and it figures why the wrangling went on for so long,the one year contract, the Russell dilemma at Sakhir..it makes sense. And of course Ferrari has pots of money for HAM to become a driver or advisor w.h.y. It may happen,F1 is a cruel world.

My information sources come from the Netherlands , Germany and from the Japanese at the company .
The Japanese at the company know the HONDA engineers in JAPAN and I consider this inside information accurate .

Of course during the new season the whole situation can change very quickly .But this is how it looks like currently ..
It's NOT 100% sure .But really interesting . So we'll see ...

I'd say that you believe any old nonsense that you read or are told.
There was never a hard requirement from Hamilton for a three year contract.
Mercedes are super happy with Hamilton and his ability to return them another world championship for 2021 and after.

Toto has Russel ahead of Verstappen for the next available place at Mercedes.
Verstappen does not have the global status that Hamilton has...Toto sees Verstappen as a poor replacement for Hamilton especially given his childish tantrums and public disrespecting of engine suppliers...in addition to his lessor abilities as a driver.

Verstappen will only be available for a place at Mercedes in 2022 if he tanks the 2021 season (or RB produce a dog of a car) and both Hamilton and Bottas retire...all of which I suspect is unlikely.

Nothing like bringing it up to the redline at full throttle with shifting at the fastest possible speed!!

These are probably two of the best engines ever manufactured in automotive history.

You guys are spectacularly wrong. In the case of people who trust each other in negotiations, it is very common to, "hold-in-place", with an interim contract such as the one Sir Lewis and Mercedes have consummated. What you will see for 2022 is a 2 year contract for Sir Lewis and him assuming an ambassador role, thereafter.

EVERY WIN that Sir Lewis has and every championship won has been under one brand: Mercedes Power.

There is NO WAY they will throw away that record and PR potential in a fit of pique. This is NOT the way corporate decisions are made.

They are coldly and logically made with maximum upside for the brand. VER is unknown outside of racing circles and Sir Lewis is a global brand and leader in multiple industries.

Think like Mercedes, the corporation, and not a VER fan. You will see that I am correct.

And my point of view is based on negotiating about a billion dollars in annual sales for publicly traded corporation.

EVERY WIN that Sir Lewis has and every championship won has been under one brand: Mercedes Power.

There is NO WAY they will throw away that record and PR potential in a fit of pique. This is NOT the way corporate decisions are made.

They are coldly and logically made with maximum upside for the brand. VER is unknown outside of racing circles and Sir Lewis is a global brand and leader in multiple industries.

Think like Mercedes, the corporation, and not a VER fan. You will see that I am correct.

And my point of view is based on negotiating about a billion dollars in annual sales for publicly traded corporation.
