The ppl (mostly guys) wearing high top black combat boots to workout in. Looks ridiculous, just get a pair of sneakers already.

Btw....any LEOs, First Responders and Miltary personel seeing you wearing those are shaking their heads.

I don't even think those would be allowed in my gym...

I really don't understand how something like this can annoy you

Does pulling your hoodie over your head every time you're about to do a set somehow gives you extra strength? Is this the gym equivalent of putting stickers on your car for that extra 15HP?

More out of principle. It just looks ridiculous. Those are shoes made for specific movements. I only wear mine when doing those movements, then put my normal sneaks on when done. They are for function not fashion. But some guys at my gym apparently where them for fashion thinking they look cool.

I don't do it because quite frankly it's like walking in moon boots (uncomfortable) but if I could, I would.

My all white nike romaleo 3s are sexy as fuck.

But yeah, only comfortable when not moving aka squatting.

These kinds of people just make me laugh, which generally puts me in a better mood. Same with people doing weird looking lifts... just more comedy gold. (unless they are on a squat rack and I am waiting for one, then it is annoying)

Seriously about the shoes? I'm not going to swap shoes immediately after an exercise - what's the big deal about sporting them throughout the workout? Though I agree, based on what you saw him doing, I doubt he was deadlifting or squatting previously (or later), but regardless, it's even more annoying to see people take up space with enormous duffel bags stuffed with unnecessary stuff (like extra shoes).

Gotta have the right tool for the job, in this case Lifters are instrumental in certain lifts. Olympic lifts especially. My gym has an area for Olympic lifting and Power Lifting. Those of us who are serious about this advanced training have gear appropriate for it. So you may not see the need to switch out shoes but many others do. Like Sugar Skulls said Lifters are not comfortable to walk around in.

Those who do entry level to basic style of training do not have the need for such gear. Not knocking them but it’s fact.

I'm with you reborn, when I do any squatting, I wear my lifters for the entirety of my workout. I am not going to change shoes just because they are uncomfortable for me to walk 10 feet between exercises.

Don’t get me wrong if I am doing other movements that require them I keep them on. However I’m not going to do bicep curls and lat pulldowns with them on (Globo gym stuff). When I’m done with them they come off. Also because I do not want to wear down the soles prematurely. Walking in them can cause uneven sole wear which could affect my lifts. Plus they are expensive shoes!

I only do squat one day a week and don't feel like they help with anything else so I am less worried about them wearing down. Plus, most of my running/gym shoes are more expensive than my lifters (Adipower - <$100 3/4" lift)

I will say that I can't believe it took me so long to get knee sleeves, I am already quite fond of them!!! I feel like an idiot with the floss cause I don't think I am doing it right. Any suggestions on guide sites on how to floss correctly?

I squat 3 times a week plus Olympic lifts so my Lifters get used alot. As far as knee sleeves go they are essential gear. I have several pairs 3mm 5mm and 7mm, no doubt have saved my knees. As far as the floss is concerned there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube. But check Kelly Starrett first. I’ve used mine with success on knees, shoulder and elbows.

after lifting/pulling soldiers out of exercises when I thought my body was Superman and fucked it up ONE time, I do need that kind of support to keep my back from straining and straight even with physical therapy sessions

I’ve gotta say it’s pretty annoying when whoever is running the front desk decides to bump up their shitty music so loudly that it starts overpowering the music on your phones.
