The M5 does little to move the needle (for me); it doesn’t address the awkward proportions (high belt line, tall profile, is it a hatchback or a sedan rear end), and the wider stance comes with the aforementioned rear fender/door implementation. It looks wilder, and I’m sure the road presence will be formidable, but none of that means it’s good looking.

To my eye it just looks like they’re trying too hard instead of effortlessly nailing it like they did with the two previous generations.
It’ll be interesting to see how this G90 looks when modified. A drop, big wheels and aero might be its saving grace. I agree that it looks tall.

I’d love to revisit all the peoples comments in a year or so, Gxx proved that BMW are in the business of moving ahead and making bold design statements.
Not all will work but their track record of recent models speaks volumes. In the end it’s a business out to make money and I’m sure they know what’s going on.
Interesting how RS6 interior looks dated. That has regular speedo and two screens for multimedia/ climate control? Or that air vents are visible.

Compared to new design language when they revealed Q6 e-tron, maybe a bit. But that has big skateboard screen, with lot's of Haptic shiny buttons.

Truthfully the rs6/rs7 performance I like and I’m not an Audi guy. I’m bmw like most of you here. That said. I really like the rs7 performance how ever two things stopped me from ordering one. The mmi in there is definitely dated and just laggy and slow compared to idrive 7 or 8. Id7 is older at this point but I find it still very fluid snappy and nice to use. When they redesign that rs6/7 next year I think? The current min in those cars will for sure feel dated and slow. It’s slow already imo. Add far as how the interior looks. I like it honestly it’s very nice. The pricing how ever. Ehh I didn’t find it worth it. When I price up a spec for rs7 performance I’m close to 160k. I don’t feel it worth approx 15-20 k more than a comparable spec m5. So in the end I passed.

Yeah, I have seen a few G60s on the road here in Germany and am also not a fan of the proportions or general styling.

I will reserve final judgment for the M5 until I see one in the metal. I do like the yellow one though--unexpectedly!

Dunno, for me BMW has one of the best stock wheels. Of course, low-range models have bad-looking wheels as in every brand.

Exactly. This boat will fly off the showroom floors and have people paying ADM's in no time. Look at the M2. People just can't help having the latest and greatest. With enough power, even the most unattractive cars will sell.

Man-o-man I think these look incredible and I'm buying one -- been first on my dealership's list well before there was a list. The fact it is a hybrid is the #1 reason I'm buying it.

Why don’t we stop being lemmings? Let’s view things objectively.

Based on initial reviews, the F90’s design was loved. The G 90 was not. Conclusion? The F90 is better looking. The F90 was faster. The G90 is slower. The F90 was lighter, the G90 is heavier. The F90 is louder. The G90 will, by all accounts, sound like a neutered vacuum. I refuse to believe that beyond group think most of you actually believe the G90 is superior.

If the roles were reversed and the F90 was the successor, everyone would come out saying this is the best car that BMW had ever made. Why? Because that’s was the precise sentiment about the F90. We wonder why cars keep getting worse year over year?

It’s simple. The over cooked spaghetti noodle that is your moral convictions give implicit permission for BMW to shove this down our throat. “Oh I’ll get used to it.” Clown show.

You can’t force your ideology down people’s throats. Calling people lemmings and positing the same post across multiple threads doesn’t strengthen your position.

I was convinced of your sarcasm when you said:

“The fact it is a hybrid is the #1 reason I'm buying it.”

I guess I was wrong… I stand corrected!

I guess we can say goodbye to the famous M-car front fender trim. First the M2. Now this.

lol - BMW could have literally brought back the e39 body and made it modern inside and mechanically with an electric hybrid twin turbo v6 or v8 and like 4600 lbs and people would be foaming at the mouth for us

We don’t need this super futuristic, hard lines on a portly figure. We want aggressiveness in a classy suit.

I don’t think anybody wants an E39 today, otherwise ///M5 buyers would just buy an E39.

G80 is the new and improved E39, and this is one reason for the high demand for the M3. It’s certainly pulling former Audi buyers (comp x) and former manual M5 owners and should pull even more who don’t want the G90.
