Ha, yeah, only 24. I get that a lot though, most of my suppliers are shocked when they meet me, thinking I'd be much older. Not the case.

Yeah, I know I don't need an SO. I just wanted to make things work with her. We are just two different people. I will go out and get some strange at some point, but right now, my main priority is to clear up some debt I accumulated this past year, and I can't do that with someone in my life.

I got married when I was 23 and my (now) wife was 21. We'd only been dating for nine months, mind you. When it's right, you know it's right. I didn't meet her until I was already well graduated from college, so I got everything out of my system that I needed to. So we travelled and did crazy, fun shit together.

My best advice is to NEVER settle and it's impossible to change people. Unless you're 100% happy with someone, don't get married to them.

@Billup, sorry to hear that man. Stay strong and focus on friends and education as you said, I think you did the right thing though. I know a lot of people that are in relationships for 5-10 years and they don't communicate with their SO and they don't even find them attractive anymore, but they end up getting married anyway because all of their friends are and it's like what the heck. So they end up getting married and become even more unhappy and withdrawn and don't have any friends left, mind you. I think you made the right choice.

My wife was not into cars at ALL when we first met, she drove a galant and then a POS grand prix and did not know how to drive a manual. Well when we started dating she knew I was into cars and started to take interest. Shortly there after I graduated highschool, got into the german cars (started with a 03 1.8t VW gti) and taught her how drive manual, eventually moved to BMWs for myself and now she has had 3 manual VWs, 2 current generation Jettas, and a mk4 gti 5spd. I race my e30 and 135i, she races her gti. We both mod our cars and its pretty fun to do together.
Her next car she wants manual awd, probably going to go audi for her unless I can run into a nice manual 335ix when we start looking.

Thanks man. It's a hard decision, and I'm having a hard time reminding myself that I made the right decision. We just can't communicate in a healthy manner, and I'm disappointed. Had she just talked to me about things in a calm manner, and not getting worked up over petty things, we would have never been in this position. I am just exhausted, my work has been slacking, and the constant headaches, thinking about when our next problem would come up.

It just isn't worth it anymore. We both have our faults, and it just couldn't mesh the way it should have.

In fairness to him - we don't really know anything about his situation, he just declined to post pictures of his wife...which honestly I respect. I have no problem with those that choose to share either, I just don't think someone who chooses not to post pics of their wife on the internet should be condemned. To each their own.

I don't think the fact that he sold his car either makes him a pussy - marriage is a wonderful thing, but its also hard work, its two people living as one and that isn't always easy. There are things / sacrifices each will have to make - and I'm willing to bet there are sacrifices on his woman's side as well that we don't know about. If they are doing this to get their finances in order and put themselves in a better position financially down the road, then all respect to them.

I certainly made sacrifices (as did my wife) at the beginning - I wasn't driving what I would like to drive; in fact, I still am not, though the SRT8 is a nice car...its a stepping stone...we are getting closer. But point is, we are doing things as best as we know how financially right now.


TLDR Notes:
- We don't know the character of Ehwnnc's wife to be so you can't leap to the conclusion she's one of those "plastic" women who will leave him hanging.
- We don't know their situation financially - probably the smart thing to sell the car
- Can't judge someone just because they choose not to plaster pics of their SO all over the internet.
